just set up another small tank for the latest lot of fry. Now I see that the randy Male has gone and blown another nest. Sure Steve.. the first lot have just started on flake food. I will wait till they get a little bigger first. most have started to show their feelers now.

Then again you can always get the variety of Convicts that I have and are Celebit. No nookie in my tank and I have 3 pairs. :lol:

Hmmmm.... Still can't get my convicts to do the Jiggy thing. :-? They did it once then stopped Jags do a better job than convicts :lol: Not to worry.. set up another tank for the fry. That makes it 13 now :roll: now.. what to do as grow out tanks? :-?

Hey Plantman I took the babies out when they were free swimming so have a small tank of the first lot of around 60 fry. been 4 weeks and they are showing their whiskers now. this 4th lot is still in the tank and being gaurded by a chocolate cichlid :lol: Looking at setting up another tank for them.. but have a problem of no room for them. whiteworms will be in the post tonight... forgot yesterday.

I have found that they are reasonable quiet when you have the water level quite high (close to the outflow) otherwise they can be a bit noisey, but not unbearable. Then again i only have my 2ft tanks in the garage so don't really notice it. But at nights when I do venture into the garage it is not overly noisey. Hope this helps. Definitely less noisey than UGF's

Good thing about canister filters is that you don't have to clean them very often An alternative to a canister filter could be to use a HOB (Hang on Back Filter) I am running these on all my tanks that are under 2ft and they run very well with little maintenance.

yeah.. my fish eat all worms. Just me don't like getting worms for them :-?

If you want to make a little bit of dosh then I would recommend. just a school of WCMM you can get $1 for them at the shops and they can take from 50 at a time.. they don't take long to breed either

I have a mdf stand for my fish tank that I have been using for the past 10 years and it is still in good nick with no painting or sealing. Secret is to not spill any water.

Fluval external filters... mmmm nice... I only use fluvals as external canister filters

I have both the Jebo and Aquaclear HOB filters and find that the Aquaclear are better at accomodating the media I like to put in, whereas with the jebo you have to use their prorietary media sheets. If you have the money go for Aquaclear, if cheap is what you are after then jebo.

could use them to control the Kois that are about :roll: and we could throw in low life scum in there too... 2 come to mind... the people who killed that poor teacher and those responsible for the death of the twins :evil:

Ewwww... Imagine eating all that furr and the guts. I prefer mine skinned, gutted and roasted thanks and sprinkled with hot and spicey salt.

As Suphew said, use the Macro I find that my fishie photos are only clear if you use the Macro function for those nice close ups.

as Sharn said but make sure that you find out what direction the flow is and make sure that the course material is the first to get the dirty water and work towards the finer material
