put the heater in a jug and see what the water temp gets up to.
I located my heater underneath my spray bar so that the water would get heated and pushed around the tank.
I can safely say that Family and I are safe and well back home.
Chocolate Cichilds are acclimatising well in their new home but there was some bickering in the car with few frayed fins.
However they are swimming around seeing the sights of the tank.
WELL DONE HBAS. GREAT CONFERENCE
Big congrats to ZEV for coming up with the Idea of passports.
Now where's caryl with the photos.
Time to get some sleep.. too much laughing
oh oh oh... diamonds go to South African, and..... BUZZ BUZZZ
Hey Zev.... Thats a thought... could do with some dinner cause my Dad would of already had his
Nah... just have to stop and unload the family and then I will head out to Hastings
15mins? are you crazy... it should be less than 10mins from Greenmeadows to Hastings
I mean they now have those 2 massive ramps at the Meannee Rd intersection so no need to slow down.. only speed up
I wouldn't do any water changes till everything is ok, or you will be syphoning out your meds (IMHO)
Don't put the carbon in the filter till after the cure is done and after a water change.
As Alanmin4304 said... TREAT THE WHOLE TANK
The meetings are normally a fun casual affair where we hear what each member is doing to there tanks and answer any questions or solve problems that they may have.
near the end we have tea, coffee, biscuits and juice as well.
Come and join us one day and meet other fish enthusiasts.
The best selection of Killies can be got by joining up with the New Zealand Killifish Association (NZKA)
Good prices too and lots of help from members.
Auckland Fishkeepers will be meeting at:
Time: 7.30pm
When: Tuesday 12 June 2007
Where: Green Bay Community House
Barron Dr
Behind New World Supermarket
(Park in the new carpark and the meeting is right next door)
In my opinion it would be the comet which is attacking your Fantails.
Fantails IMHO should not be kept with fantails as they are the fastest moving fish in the tank and get first dibs on any food in the tank.
However it is possible to keep one comet with fantails. This I have done in the past without much problems.
Pond liner would be the cheapest way to build a pond
Mechanical filtration.
use netting over the top of the pond to stop birds eating fish.
use a lot of plants on the edges to keep nutrients levels low so low level of algae growth.
Have a look at Caryls thread on her pond for ideas as well
Your Discus will adjust to your existing pH of your tap water.
As Alan said.. throw away your pH adjusting stuff.. I was in a similar situation to you.. wasted my money :-?
just keep up with the water changes.
