  3. Why is it on tv? $$$ signs in the eyes of tv executives thats all. Its not faith, education, religion or anything to do with that, they want the money.
  4. alright the whole thing gives me the hebbedy geebedies, and i really don't want to... but the boss really wants me too so??? i think it will happen but if it gets weird or something like that im 'outa there'. Like if the nurse starts licking her lips as she is putting the needle in, man im running for the hills!
  5. Welcome the forum is fun as, i would try something cheap and hardy and will breed quickly. Bristlenose, platties then you can have the added enjoyment of having more fish than you actually paid for in the first place, and who knows even make some money back.
  6. great just what the world needs, another rip off artist imo. Sorry dont want to sound harsh nothing personal it just seems like its a ratings fad to me.
  7. oh my g-d this baby is sooooo cute, oh my what a great what a crop of hair you have?, reminds me of a younger version of myself in that regard.
  8. if you hate tele sales people then dont give blood, these guys are calling us up as soon as the rest time is complete. they are becoming a real pain in the ar-e. but when people are sick they need blood, i dont give blood my better half does, but know i should. i just aren't convinced that it is completely good for you for them to drain blood out of you as often as the 'experts' say its alright. i mean if we were meant to have blood completely replaced quite often then wouldn't 'evolution' have figured that out by now??? i can only imagine the response that comment will get. bty i am only writing on this thread cause i am waiting for something and am really really bored.
  9. What a weekend of sport, now we have just got to get tickets to the semis
  10. ive heard slight amounts of milk powder does the trick but green waste is most often talked about. i think you might want to consider buying a plastic rubbish bin from the Warewhare for 20 bucks and using that. Someone has even said placement on your property can play a part in culture growth. if it was me i would set up 3 or 4 in different areas to try and ascertain the best position for a culture to grow.
  11. oh and that little worm, is feeding on excess waste in your tank, loaches will eat them but do a good vacumm of your gravel next time you do a water change.
  12. ill be honest, there were casualties, but the larger fish came through sweet as and the little ones were getting on any way. i just changed my substrate to a finer grade, and uped my water changes to once a week to combat waste. i have also added shells to try and raise the ph but its not happening as quickly as hoped. but it is sitting at 6 at the moment and hopefully will raise up more during the next few weeks.
  13. what is your ph, if you tank level is different than your tap water then this affects your fish. i had these sort of symptons on a few fish recently and for some reason my ph had just bottomed out. i had never had ph problems before but all of a sudden i was under a ph of 6. i think that a large water change like that needs a dose of stress coat used before the new water goes in. A rise in ph can result 'burn' i think. but i am no expert.
  14. Do they rust? What is their life span?
  15. keen as to go out for hunt this weekend eh?
  16. yeah ive just seen this site and it pretty much confirms it for me, in that case it appears that these fish were falsely sold from a chain pet store.
  17. there is just no way that any of these are pearl scales is there?
  18. looks like your oscar wants in on the action
  19. thats really interesting about the gas heater. a part of the gaseous exchange process going on the water surface, so what's the gas heater putting into the air? if in fact this can have an impact on the ph level?
  20. you have got to get at least four more clown loaches, they are highly social fish and can get very lonely, which will result in a shy fish. The more the better but note they can live a ripe old age, some say over 30 yrs and if well kept grow quite large. They also require large volume and high water flow please check on line about their natural habitat.
  21. Dixon, would you believe Tana is so tame that tetras die of old age in that tank, he wont even eat anything that isn't fed to him by hand, if i drop a shrimp once it floats past his head he wont go near it. Heating is a Gas burner. Thinking that ph could be lower than 6 but that is the limit of my tester.
