  1. what course is it? there are literally thousands of scholarships that go unclaimed every year.
  2. so did you build the KT tanks?
  3. yep that's it. may even be labeled such.
  4. sweet deal man. look forward to the thread I planned my tank years before i actually set it up. lots of flaws though. any how... best you get back to eating those hondas for lunch. I personally like all wheel drive, and dislike most jap cars. my old mitsi GTO tt was alite though 380BHP - not so good on gas.
  5. what you get?  are you a convert now?
  6. I reckon my flatmates machine could give it a run for its money, lol.. we are not allowed to us it at night cause it wheeeeeeeeesss at us for about 20 minutes. what a great auction though!
  7. not rare. but nice 1st is a gold spot 2nd -- normal plec? tempted to say red spot but the pattern is a bit different
  8. I could do it 8) probably not worth filleting though
  9. yeah, they most certainly do eat fish eggs.
  10. :bounce: welcome. It sounds like your tank is now cycling.see the stress zyme needs something to work on like fish poop.many of us don't even use that stuff. I sometimes do to speed up the process. Adding it to plain tank water will not have any or much affect at all. With regards to your neon, perhaps a pic will help. Maybe its eaten too much food.
  11. i had a planted tank with a lot of plants in it that formed a dense network, and a few nocturnal predators and many many s.american cichlids. When i removed my plants to change setups i found an army, hundreds of babies! It took a matter of minutes before my catfish, syno swooped the whole lot up.
  12. congrats on the breeding! is it the camera angle that makes their eyes protrude so much?
  13. What he said  it's all spot on. With t5's you have 2 options - t5's and t5 HO's. the HO stands for High output - these are really bright, and if you get a hood that matches the length of your tank, and will provide sufficient light for a tank of that depth. Be warned though - they are usually pretty expensive, and your plants will grow really well. If your concern is plant growth think about JBL balls in the substrate too. HTH
  14. sweet. I wouldn't put the pots in the tank unless you intend on raising the pH. just let the pH in the bucket stabilise to a level you think is appropriate and then add them to the tank one by one. the buffer is contained in your water, not the driftwood. what sort of pots are these? ive seen many used in tanks with no changes to the pH levels etc. also used a pot to breed, kribs, firemouths etc etc..
  15. wow. its intriguing. I really like it!
  16. I should buy some off you when my fish get bigger, lol..
  17. have i understood right? you have pots sitting in a bucket or similar and that pH rose really high. you haven't tinkered with the tank yes?
  18. A GAE is a golden algae eater as seen here. That's a pic of one of mine 8) There is some one selling bristlenoses in welly at the moment. They seem really good. I'm getting 4 and my flat mate is getting 4! Its in the trade section on here.
  19. I hope the 24k does not refer to its price?
  20. lol.. I put in 3 GAE's and 3 Ottos. While the GAE's are fantastic at eating algae - they aren't the most social of all fish  they can be pretty stroppy. even though mine are youngish they chase each other from time to time. occasionally chase the dems too :-? Ottos are really peaceful but need to be in groups. ill try getting for my tank. im looking at a total of 6 maybe. 3 seem to be happy too always hang out together. try bristlenoses, mine is a busybody but i am unsure if he is eating algae or just generally rasping. lol. you fed them bread? hahahaha i bet they loved that.
  21. lol. thanks L/A. Maybe no lettuce then. they will poop heaps with lettuce. they poop a lot with courgettes too ha ha. its incredible.
  22. yes. the volume of water will have an effect on it. change the water in the bucket that you are soaking them in and slowly the pH will stop changing that drastically HTH
