  1. we have had several cats and I call them all cat
  2. I would not use MDF for a tank hood. Use real wood
  3. I haven't seen africans do that but I have seen plenty of tiger barbs twirling around the tank. I don't keep tiger barbs anymore, its not pretty to watch esp when another fish decides to have a nibble at it and it spins out of control around the tank. Every fish I have seen like that soon dies.
  4. you are right, it was dead boring. Starting to get some character to it now tho. I'd just add some interesting stones, rocks, small pieces of driftwood. Form some caves and get some bottom dwelling fish. Then you'll be satisfied for a while.
  5. I'd call his bluff and get him to bring some in or at least reveal his source

    ROCK CLEANING

In a few days I will be stripping down my african tank to shift to a new address. The rocks (and there are lots) have all gone brown, algae I guess which is probably due to many hours of fluorescent lighting each day. The tank is in the garage in which there is very little natural light. This will be the ideal time to clean up the rocks before I replace them into the tank. Any suggestions on what to use other than lots of scrubbing? which I know I will be doing anyway. I've heard of people using bleach I think. I'm thinking it needs to be killed off to prevent it growing straight back again. I won't have much time to get it done as I'll need to get the fish back in the tank asap
  7. where's the next tank going?
  8. stay away from those haileas. If they not noisy already when you buy one, it soon will be

hey Ryan...gretels post was nearly 4 years ago, probably found a piece of poly by now
  11. with little or no resale value
  12. If NZ couriers was the only company in the country I would rather deliver goods myself. Sorry but I had a bad experience with them. Nothing to do with fish tho. I vent my spleen about them any chance i get lol
  13. nice one you guys, congratulations
  14. Not all company's will carry fish. I use Fastway Couriers. $20 - $25 North Island, $30 - $40 Sth Island. Ring them, pack your fish and take them there. Its easy, don't sweat
  15. I never add it to my tanks and it has made no difference since I stopped using the stuff

    Oscar unwell

what else have you offered him to eat?
  17. find a courier who will transport live fish, get a price to quote your buyer, Find a poly box, heat pad, double bag the fish and double rubber band. Place bags into box and pack with newspaper. Label it to show it contains live fish and fragile, this side up etc. Deliver it to the courier allowing ample time so that it is delivered the next morning. Let your buyer know when they can expect the fish to arrive at their address so they can be there to greet them.
  18. you want us to send the boys round to persuade him a little to send this thing to you?
  19. will there be fish for sale at the show?
  20. yeah what is that supposed to mean huh?
