actually I didn't even bother to rinse it. I put it into the tank just to see how it would look, then when i was ready to set up the tank I couldn't be bothered taking it back out to rinse it. I had no probs at all with it.

I have silica sand, it settles immediately and so long as yout filter intake is not sitting too close to the sand you won't have a problem

I've got a culture going which is looking good now. Whats the easiest way to seperate them from the soil and feed them to the fish?

does anyone elses tiger barbs float head down and arse up? one has been doing it all day and I thought something might be wrong with him but now 2 or 3 others are doing the same. Our little girl thinks they are just being copy cats.

my rainbow likes to chase away other fish sometimes, seems to depend what sort of mood he's in. He's never hurt anything tho. In fact it's amusing to watch. Livens things up in the tank.

I've heard that a tank can be cycled using solely stresszyme. Is this correct?
