  1. Tiritiri is a must! I went there on Friday for a uni trip, was absolutely stunning
  2. They get trained to jump and do things like that, everything in captivity lives longer than in the wild, its due to sustained diet and living conditions. But yeah, I have no problem with the captive bred dolphins, just the ones like the marineland ones were, caught and taken from their natural habitat
  3. A little different. The fish I own were born in captivity. The dolphins were caught from their natural habitat and then spent their life in captivity. I have no problem with things being born in captivity staying there as they don't have the ability to hunt and protect themselves.
  4. That is such crap. Spending your life in captivity when you were born to be free. Wow. Hey, guys, why dont we just lock you up for your whole life and watch you guys do flips and tricks - would you like that? You don't need the live animals to promote conservation. You just need the right people telling the information. Zoo's are one thing for animals if they have the right amount of space, but having a dolphin in a relatively small sized pool is balls. You guys are the ones that harp on about needing the right amount of space for the fish to swim in and be happy. If we were to do that for dolphins it would have to be a pretty big tank, as it is theyre in a goldfish bowl and suffering for it. So its people like YOU that help animal cruelty
  5. Mine don't use trays, but in saying that that's because they don't get locked up at night - I would love to do that but getting four cats inside at night and keeping them inside without them killing each other and hassling us would be a bit of a mish. Just stick to what you're doing I reckon - better for the cats and better for the environment P.S. Animates are having a buy one get one free kitty litter sale this month.
  6. There are two things you can do: The most important thing you could do is definitely get Snowballs fixed. Definitely - without a doubt, because this is most likely what is causing Rufus to become so viscious. As he still has his goods he is producing a lot more testosterone and so Rufus, sensing this, feels he has to man up to face the challenge. And there is this product you can buy from your vets (not sure of the exact name) which you plug in to the wall and it sprays out the hormones that mother cats release when their kittens are young, thus calming them. I have four cats, two of them hate one another but we only have the occasional tiff between them, they never take out on us (if they did they wouldn't be fed !). But seriously, just give it time, try getting Snowballs fixed or getting the spray and everything should work out fine
  7. Meika is a german shephard I'm guessing? (Gorgeous btw! So are Milo and Barnacle and all the other dogs )
  8. Okay. Not wanting to post a bad picture of my parents but if, at the age of 13 or 14, I had stolen anything (especially a @#^%# pony!!) I would have been in so much CRAP its not funny. My parents would have made me walk up to their front door and apologise. They would have made me repair the damage, or at the very least taken my pocket money away from me for the duration that would be required to do the damage. Seriously though - parents do play a role in this. It's called discipline. Also with the turning 18 thing - once I turned 18 I realised that so many things I was doing (no comment) could get me into serious trouble!

  11. I was thinking: What about a concert/event at the Park? I know my boyfriends band would probably be pretty keen to play (i would have to double check) probably for free. We could advertise it and hope for a good outcome etc...
  12. awesome photos i love cats and their quirky antics
  13. I would've agreed with that. I've always heard bigger stones/gravel that don't fit in their mouth.
  14. Thanks guys! I'll try and take better pictures of the unknowns when I do another big clean
  15. Here are a few [pretty crap] pictures, and I was wondering if you guys could please help me to identify what exactly it is I have growing in my tank? Sorry if some of the plants are the same. . . Thanks!
  16. Hey Welcome. Nice sounding tanks you have ! I <3 gouramis
  17. I should also add I have two SAE, one GBA and one rainbow shark (yes i know its heaps of bottom dwellers). My tank is approx. 160L Edit: AND Two clown loaches that will be looking for homes soon (once I can get a picture and size estimate of them)
  18. I have three BN's of what I would consider a good size (not sure of their age) and I also have two peppered cory (yes i know they prefer schools etc). I've been thinking of saying farewell to the BN and getting more cories. What do you guys think is best?
