Well got home from uni today and she was no more Guess she finally gave up R.I.P

There are no males in the tank and she's never had babies.. (to my knowledge) there's another female swordtail who looks a hell of a lot healthier than she does.. And I'm pretty sure none of my other fish have hassled her... I have a three spot gourami, neon tetras, glowlite tetras, danios, bottom feeders etc

I live with four cats. Three of them consider me to be their master (or slave as it is with cats :-? ) and if I ever have my door closed at night then my door is scratced by cats trying to get in, or outside my bedroom window there is yowling, or even by my door to the deck there is even more crying. Furthermore if I let them in and then close my door then they meow and scratch to get out. I gave up and have just started leaving my bedroom door open - Seriously, its the only way that I could get them to shut up - I was getting jack all sleep because of those... pussys and now it's fine (if I don't mind being woken up with a cat purring on my head or in a cramped position with a cat on either side of my legs) So really my answer to you is keep your door open... They don't learn.. They're just annoying

Hey guys, Went to the vets and ($90 later) she took his temperature which is up about a degree - normal for cats is 38.5, his was 39.4, she also said his breathing was sounding a bit raspy, so she gave him a shot for the his fever and gave me some paste to give him. So I'm glad I took him to the vet Hopefully he gets better fast I thought a picture of him might be appropriate (yes he's in our kitchen sink, he refuses to drink unless it's from a running tap) Thanks everyone for your help

Yep he's had all of his shots (I think at least.. er..), anyway he's off to the vets at 3pm today. Now I have to try and stick him in the cage.. the worst thing ever

She looks quite thin and I've noticed recently she's had a bit of a problem swimming properly and right now she's sitting on the bottom of the tank just gulping a lot... I'm pretty sure shes about to die but is there anything I can do to keep her alive?

I've looked around the net a bit and the answers are either that he's cold or that he's sick with a fever and that I should take him to the vet immediately?! The latter has me a bit worried but it's the first sign of any potential 'illness' I've spotted.. He's around 5 years old and when he was a kitten had cat flu.. And he's lived in Australia and New Zealand... But now I'm going on about him a bit much... Anyway - do you think it's just because he's cold?

That's true - but I think in cases like this the owner should also be punished. Jail time or a nice big fine should be appropriate.

I'll let you know. Just put my fish straight into a new tank. They should be fine though as I cheated slightly and moved my old filter and a bit of the old tank water with them. Although it is going from a 70L tank to a 160L tank so there is still quite a significant amount of new bacteria thats gonna have to be er.. created.

They say THAT dog is the most dangerous in New Zealand? Really? I have seen worse dogs on the streets with owners walking them... It's probably so goddamn angry because it's been stuck in a god forsaken cage for so long - as for biting the people - it's the owners fault for not taking the necessary precautions for a dog that has pre-requisties of aggression.. in other words - MUZZLE the dog before taking it to the vets. A trainer could solve its problems. And potentially a different trainer. Some owners just aren't aware of all the laws regarding dogs... and are often completely irresponsible and let their dogs run free. But if you guys think the dog should be killed because of the owners ignorance and stupidity - your opinion.

Finally set my new fish tank up yesterday - Although I couldn't wait for the cycling to take place because I didn't have the room to have both tanks running at the same time, so I just stuck my old filter into the tank with a lot of the old tank water. Anyway here are some pictures... My old tank One of my cats enjoying the old tank... My new tank And again... And a different one of my cats enjoying the new tank... I'm so happy!
