  1. Nothing special. The hood has 3 x 30watt bulbs.. I only run two. Occasionally when I can be bothered I turn on my Co2 but that's not very often and I doubt that has anything to do with it being healthy as I haven't used Co2 since I moved house 5 months ago... hmmm No products go in the water ever as we're on spring water so it's not needed... They just grow =)

    favourite petshop??

    Agreed. Also World of Water.
  3. Would be nice if it stopped growing!! I quite liked that log!! haha
  4. Hmmm about $1500  plus plants, plus my fish
  5. Did someone say Java Fern!? Haha. Well, I originally attached this ONE SMALL FERN using fishing line, one piece fell off and then attached itself to the rock next to it and as you can see they all have had a little bit of a population explosion....
  6. That same thing happened to my friends! Twice! they re-named their rabbit "Virgin Mary"
  7. So like, would it affect coloured patterns on black shirts??
  8. Me and my Mum catch everything apart from the target species, everytime... I will keep you in mind!
  9. http://www.waitakere.govt.nz/AbtCit/ei/ ... olinga.asp Try that.
  10. Sounds like a smooth-cased caddisfly larvae?? Google and see if they look the same...
  11. Was considering that but no room left. Don't want it too over-crowded. Plus it's situated in full sun. Those rocks get quite warm, the water doesn't get super warm, but too warm for natives I would imagine.
  12. ...tell me about it... We had to hire a hand truck to move them because my dad wouldn't bring his mini-digger up... Was still a mission! But well worth it and the goldfish are much more happy in there than the 100L bucket they've been in since we moved here a few months back!
  13. Taking it a bit far aren't we? I'm sure alanmin was only kidding... Sheesh!
  14. Hey ya'll! Finished the pond last weekend, finally took some snaps! 3 weekends of work! Most of the rocks were there so we had to move them out, then dig the pond, add the lining and put the rocks back. (thank god it doesn't leak I really don't want to re-live that experience again!) It looks bigger than the pics. Home to my 8 goldfish and I'm currently growing some tadpoles out back and when they're frogs I will add them and hope they stay.
  15. Hmm it looks like a tumour... Tumours can be fat or liquid and it's not very often, but they can be cancerous. As far as I'm aware there's nothing they can be treated with. Just see what happens.

  18. Ahhh sorry, Not used to an article being referred to as "they" instead of "it" Eg. "sounds like it's 20 years old" as opposed to "sounds like they're 20 years old" anyway, that aside, it's a good idea Twinkles :bounce:
