  1. Thanks! :bounce: They were rescued as stray kittens from under a house in Tokoroa! Feral when I got them but now they love me
  2. Haha yeah because he growls his brother if he goes near the mouse! He's like a dog I swear lol Yeah I don't know who said cats can't be trained!
  3. Not technically, that is the exact law! I talked to a contact at DoC about it. DoC has given me permission to capture, kill, freeze and sell Gambusia as petfood if I felt the need. I just need to take the letter they've given me to MINFISH and get the ohk with them too, other various certs and I'm away lol I'd call the business Evil Guppy Inc.
  4. My old paradise fish once bit my arm hairs when I was doing some aquascaping. lol 8)
  5. Make sure they really are goldfish and not carp. If they are goldfish sell them on trademe!
  6. Haha awesome. Yeah he could do it for hours too but I give up before he does. Haven't tried paper though heard its popular. Yeah someone was telling me their cat could open doors by swinging on the door handle! that I have to see!

  11. Hey everyone. So I know its not THAT unusual to see a fetching cat but I thought I'd show you my cat fetching anyways. lol His name is Zyzyx (said Ziz-icks) and hes about 10 months old. So cute. He's fetching his mouse. lol 8) Have a squizz. You can see one of the tanks on the left too. Vids not that great quailty though and yes, thats tonight's shortland street on TV lol :bounce:
  12. Borneo sucker? as in a Hillstream Loach? They're found in similiar temps in the wild as WCMM. I have some in my shrimp tank. Unheated, but the temp stays quite warm. I have them in there as the current is quite strong and thats what they like.
  13. I dont know a great deal about natives. All native fish are prone to white spot, so watch out for that. :bounce:
  14. RAWR Spiders are scary. That is all.
  15. No, there are no coldwater sucker fish, only tropical fish that can handle lower temps. 99% of coldwater species aren't allowed in the country incase they get released into our water ways. Hope that clears things up. :bounce:

    Keyholes!

Hey everyone. Are keyholes suitable for community?? 300L with neons, blue line rasbora, harlequin rasbora, glowlight danio and a few others? I realise they get to 15cm but just curious if they are aggressive or like snacking on smaller fish.... lol Thanks! :bounce:
  17. Woah... You're right. Very little is known about their spawning habits. Interesting! Also interesting that they might be their own genus! Is there going to be a whole chapter in your book about them?
  18. Hey everyone! Can anyone tell me what plant is the big broad leafed one in the centre-ish of this pic ??? THANKS! :bounce:
  19. Yes, that would be awesome! Do they have any relatives?? Maybe in Australia? that give some indication of their spawning habits??
  20. they're amazing... So they'd eat mayfly larvae etc that cling to the bottoms of rocks.... What do you feed them in captivity ?
