    LOOP PUMPS

Your LFS. Could also get them shipped from the US from marinedepot and there's www.reefonline.com.au. Jetskisteve may also be able to get you some.

    LOOP PUMPS

Stay with the closed loop idea.

    New Tank :)...

Yeah, I think that'd be Suphew, Chim.
  7. It does get cooler though. A little bit. Depending on where, but generally it only gets a lot cooler in the spring from the rain.
  8. I don't think i've ever heard of a fish that likes laying eggs in colder weather, all I can think of prefer higher if anything.
  9. I grew some to about half an inch feeding...Nothing. Just the ones that slipped through the brine shrimp net into the bucket(Coke bottle floating in a bucket with a heater, siphon water from bottle through net into the bucket) And they grew up to about half an inchish in around 2 weeks.
  10. Could use the calendar in outlook. hehe.
  11. Speaking of bristles...

    Flat worms.

I'd have thought you might as well do it now. Can't really do much more damage.
  13. It should be able to run the scwd, it'll just be pretty slow.
  14. Yeah, that's what I'd suggest. IE, exactly the same as any other cannister filter. Suck on the outlet hose until it's filling up the cannister, then throw the outlet hose in a bucket and let it siphon a bit out, plug everything back the way it's supposed to run and turn it on. Should go.

    Pale clown loach

Where did you bruy them from?
  16. Maybe you should have tried the two little fishies(Or something like that) fluidized reactor when you got that batch of stuff from Marine depot? Would have only been around $30ish.
  17. Hmmm, That's not a bad price, I have 2 leathers, 2 LPS, so that would be say $36 a month and I figure it costs me just for electricity about $50/mo. I made the mistake of calculating the yearly cost of electricity for my tank and it came out more than the insurance and registration for my car per year!
  18. You don't need airpumps in it or anything. It's fine in just a sealed container. If anything you don't want airstones because then you'll need to add water to top off the evaporation before using it.
  19. Here's a little bit... http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/category.asp?id=Catfish%20and%20Bottom%20Feeders I don't know if we can get them here.

    Flat worms.

I treated it about 3 times, left the fwe in the tank the second two times, they were seperated by about a month.

    Flat worms.

It seems you'd practically have to have flatworms coating every surface to have enough that killing them would cause a problem. I had them swarming in my tank so much they looked like little red shingles on the rock in some places. Sucked up what I could then dosed the tank. I didn't notice anything being stressed, though I only had a couple fish and corals. But afterwards my hair algae all disappeared. Salifert needs to sell the SFWE it liter jugs, I think, since it never seems to actually wipe the flatworms out.

    Flat worms.

Six line Wrasses eat them sometimes. No guarantees.
  23. It doesn't have MHs, it only has a couple 4 foot flouros. Maybe T5s, but not likely. 20mm glass would be overkill and I doubt it is. Edit: If it really is a meter tall then 20mm wouldn't be overkill. It's hard to say since he doesn't say how tall the TANK is, looks like he's talking about the entire stand when he says 1.8 meters.
  24. Looks like all he basically has spent the money on is an expensive tank and stand if it's a "Professional" one. They tend to be pretty pricy. Say that would have been $4K new. Oh, it says it was custom made. So make that $1500. And the liverock would have been heaps, looks like he has maybe 100 kilos? So that's about $1000 there. $600 retail for the "Massive eheim" pumps say $100 each for the other powerheads. $450 for the fish. He doesn't list the skimmer put it's probably a pretty cheap one so say $400. And say $300 for the sump and plumbing. So my wild ass guess is it would have cost him somewhere around...Comes out to $4650 all new retail for what he has.
  25. Just for reference, I saw a tank at Port Nicholson glass that was about 3feet long by 2feet tall made of 6mm glass. The reason it was there? A section around 1 foot tall by 2 feet long blew out of the from panel one day because it had a safety factor of something like 1.00 and someone walked past the tank a little roughly I guess.
