    MH keeps going out

Awww, 96K, that's soo horrible...I can't even GET broadband here!
  2. Just remember, Length is depth, Width is length and...Ugh...hehe. Speaking of photography...I'm pleased with this photo. Needs some...Uhh...Pre production processing...
  3. If my float valve sticks it just dumps at most about 20 liters of water into the tank. Not enough to make much of a difference.

If it was capacitors wouldn't it tend to have the problem with all bulbs?
  5. Solution, rotate the tank 90°! Then it'll be 6 feet deep!

No, I haven't replaced the bulbs, Reef. No warranty and I really don't want to be spending $300+ on bulbs right now. I put the old ones back in. Oddly one of them now has a green tinge. Not blaming the supplier, Steve. Blaming the product. Since the old bulbs are working fine I think that rules out the pendant and the two aqualine ones started acting up about a month apart I'm saying my sample size of two means Aqualine 16K bulbs=pooo.
  7. No, that won't work. Might work in a saltwater tank, but yours is freshwater.

    Dying Fish

I think the bricklike pellets are media, so that's probably not a problem. It's possible the carbon was there long enough to turn into a biofilter and removing that caused a small spike in ammonia, but I doubt it. So, otherwise I dunno what's going on. How many of the gouramis have died? I haven't been able to kill them when I tried! hehe. If you want to replace them, let me know.
  9. How about a bottlefish? Fishless cycle it.

Why would the ignitor cause a problem with a bulb going out? And the old ones are working fine. It's an Arcadia "Professional deluxe" Which I'm guessing would be what you mean by older style arcadia.
  11. You can use blankets and candles to keep warm and to see while the fish slowly suffocate...
  12. Yes, you can move as much of the water as possible and the filters and everything to the new tank and you won't need to cycle it.
  13. Speaking of cheap stuff. Just fired up my $150 bunnings generator. It's actually 550 watt with 750 watt peak. Seems to run well, should run at least the filters and everything on all my tanks if there's a power outage.
  14. My $20(I think) float valve hasn't stuck yet...Well, I'm ignoring times it stuck due to my faulty mounting design. But since I fixed that it's been perfect.

    Any help with ID?

Ah, sweet. If I ever get around to see your tank, Suphew, I'll have to pinch a couple black ones off you.
  16. Some kinda nudibranch? It's about maybe 20mm long, but is very stretchy so that of course varies. White/greyish which isn't very clear in the picture. Just caught it crawling around on my liverock yesterday.
  17. That or if it's using RO water you could have a solenoid turning the water flow on and off and pouring straight into the tank.

Oops, AquaLINE not Aquamedic. It's a double ended one, Kermit.

    MH keeps going out

And now the OTHER bulb is starting to go out. So, I'm officially NOT impressed with these Aquamedic 16K bulbs. Hey, Steve, any kind of warranty on them?
  20. Not around here it doesn't!
  21. Where do you get it? Best I've been able to find is like $50 for boxes to make about 120 liters. I really don't want to be spending $50 per water change.
  22. I dunno if i'd kill people for $60 an hour, but I'd definitely hit them with a makeshift blunt object for $60 an hour.
  23. You're only going to be putting a bubble every few seconds through it. It won't have a problem.
  24. Let's see...2500 pins to solder, let's say 2 pins per minute on average that's 1250 minutes. Call that 21 hours including breaks...$30/hr for labor, you going to charge $630+ for them? hehe.
  25. No need to put any holes, Jude. Just run the airhose to the intake strainer of the canister and rubber band/cable tie it in place, it should suck any CO2 bubbles up.
