  1. Whatever Rockwork said is gibberish. It's the ratio of cylinder volume with the piston at the bottom of the cylinder to the top, which is the amount it compresses the air fuel mixture. 10:1 means it's compressed to 1/10th its volume, 12:1 is compressed to 1/12th and so on. Higher compression=better.
  2. The best coke comes in containers labeled "Barq's"
  3. It is physically impossible for fuel octane to effect the drivetrain gear ratio.
  4. Jeez, wish my parents had that much money to throw around when i was a kid. I was lucky to get $200-300 worth of presents and was happy with it.
  5. Have you ever accidentally dropped a hole? You'll never find it again...
  6. Exactly, higher performance, higher reliability, lower operating costs, doesn't care if you have a second car, only nags you if you leave the keys in the ignition...
  7. I'm still trying to figure out how you "Found a hole in the stream that had a rock wrapped around it" and what exactly is going on there. Did the rock have a hole in it and you stuck the branch through to help carry it?
  8. They only have to be fenced if they're over a set depth, in wellington it's 550mm iirc. Doesn't matter if the council has arie potos or no arie potos.
  9. 6-8 weeks is pretty much the standard.
  10. I also found sodium hydroxide to work well. I never had much luck with covering them with kalk. Seemed like the little blob would eventually drop off and out pops the aptasia again. Sodium hydroxide worked great for killing them, though it also kills anything nearby or downstream.
  11. What do you need them for? Air pumps and stones are really only useful if you don't have any kind of filter disturbing the surface. If you do they're purely aesthetic. Sounds like you have a pump already, so if you just point it at the surface it will airate the water heaps.

    Keeping tanks cold

No. That will only have probably in the region of 5 watts cooling power. Which is fine if you have lots of time and a well insulated container like a fridge, but a fish tank is far from that.
  13. Ooh, yeah and a spa would come preplumbed for pond pumps!

Why bother? Water bottles work perfectly fine and likely last significantly longer.
  15. That would be the exact opposite of hypo.
  16. Nice looking dogs. So, the girl just lays around doing nothing all the time? Wish my malymutt had that sometimes.
  17. Anyone know where a person could get a couple stock troughs for cheap? A couple could be a quick easy way to make ponds.
  18. Plurals don't. Posessives do...Or would it be posessive's?
  19. The two guys at the top, hehehe...
  20. Fiberglass is better, but they're more expensive and you don't have much choice of size or shape, most are small. Bunnings pond liner is probably pretty thin and weak, I'd get something much stronger for a big pond. You can put gravel in the bottom, or not. Your choice.
  21. Show Juju some videos of archer fish, maybe he'll get the idea?
  22. Depends, what kind of catfish are they? There are some 2000-3000 different species of them? 15 red tailed catfish wouldn't even fit in your tank if you tried to cram them in with a hammer for example...
