How old do they have to be before they start to breed? Ive got 4 smaller ones, one lot have gone off in a pair and the others stay together but not as much as the other 2 they are bout 10 - 15cm

I thought they only get to about 35cm maybe im wrong? They dig but dont do anything i think i have lesbian fish

Mine are in an almost 600l and there fine, apart from digging up the gravel everyday :evil: at least i never have to re arrange my tank myself

Well im a girl and i have got my bf into fish. We started with one 50l tank in october last year. Now we have 9 tanks the biggest being a 600l and yes its bad when you both are into it id hate to think how much we have spent in the last 4 months

Thanks for that when i brought it was told it was an upsidedown catfish. When i saw it i knew it was obviously not but got it anyways but had no idea what it was :oops: . Im not very bright when it comes to naming fish. I have a whole tank full of fish that i have no idea of what they are

i maybe wrong with the id id just seen it called that else where but they may have it wrong. Im going to look dumb if its not :oops:

Will try to get one it likes to hide. 1 on tm in the fishtank part it looks exactly the same.

I have a Pimelodidae / naked catfish?. (Not sure of the proper name). Its bout 20 odd cm. Looking at selling it maybe and only have plec's.

no idea, they look like a silver shark with red tip fins

Will try and get some tomorrow. They dropped one of the silver dollars on the floor at the shop so i got them for free

I went shopping yesterday and brought 8 new fish. Got 2 silver dollars and im pretty sure its a pair male has red anal fin and female has plain anal fin (i think thats correct) they are bout 12cm. 4 tin foil barbs not sure on these but they bout 10cm+ each. 2 Veil tail angels i think they are very large and i think they are a pair as they are always together even in the tank i got them from were with others. Howe can you tell the sexes of these fish? are they easy to tell at all?

oh no thats got 2 sux. I moved 9 fish from chch to dunedin on a hot as day and i was so worried that they die but lucky enough they got here ok. I moved mine in those big plastic 70lt storage containers .

Yeah i do that too. I got a 50l that i just breed guppies in it but convicts might be better since they will get slightly bigger. Down here they are still live $15 in pet shops though

Yeah mine do that 2. I give them spiders and moths or sometimes get 10 or 20 lil fish and put them in and watch them getting hunted down :lol:

Do yours half jump out of the tank all the time? And do you feed yours live food at all?

I got 6 all up 2 of them are bout 30+ cm but they love biting 2 especially when trying to feed the fire eel bloodworms

Does it count that mine like 2 eat my hand? Maybe in your palm and curl your fingers up they like going for fingers for some reason

I didnt think saturated fat was good for oscars. Because they carnt digest it properly. Mine love shrimp, mussel and guppies of course

I got a japanese fire belly newt today and would love a few more. Does anyone breed them no pet shops down here can get them in for me. Or does anyone have any they want to sell?

Looking at getting one of these what type of tank setup is best? Was going to go 2/3 water 1/3 land with plants etc. What heat do they need to be kept at? Help with this would be great!
