No so, it's in the Anabantoid section so should be obvious and also the previous mention of the female fighters. Sorry to hear about your loss, I am very interested by this....have any other breeders or keepers seem this before?
Is anyone else disturbed by the pix on a certain website where fish are photographed out of water??? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that is necessary at all, and boarder line cruel! Your thoughts please??
Would depend who/what is in the tank. I used to remove most of my nest but would also loose many eggs, which isn't always a bad thing Certainly, many people would agree that they are quite safe, Dad fish is guard them.
I'm always curious as to why people resort to death as a "quick fix" solution, a bit of patience and correct training (of the cat) can resolve the issues.
That's very interesting to know and would explain mine which are in a white gravel tank and are dark brown with light brown spots.... very cool. Nice fish Adodge!!!
I have always been told that a simple water change triggers it off, where possible turn the heater down a tad. Have you tried feeding bloodworms or food high in protien? Got my male a female and in less than a week they bred... with in a month they bred 2-3 times....for my cave I used the base of broken flower pot....they have breed 5-6 times since I got her. Though becarefully if you have siamese fighters, they seem to like the babies...
Anything that might have fallen into the water? Maybe during the water change? Sometimes chilling water can make thier fins clamp. Thats my 5 cents worth.
Here's my biggest and best male yellow fighter... so far. He's somewhat bigger than his brothers and showing awesome fins. Him and his siblings are 4months old this month.Enjoy
No Conch it's not as easy as that, it's a privalige I get through association and a privalige I'm not going to abuse. Wish I had never said anything now. Sheesh.
