    Probably about 6-8months....I start selling mine at 3-4months....depends what diet, how many are in a tank etc. I'm sure others would have their own views on that.

    And here they are at 7weeks of age tomorrow....not relocated in their 3ft home.

    Good work...be interesting to see what colours you get from that unique colour mix. Lets us know how things go.

    I use that Liqufry food for egg layers and once they are free swimming start with a mix of microworms and decap brine shrip, seems to have worked very well. I have read that having plants in the tank is beneficial to the fry who eat the "bugs" same as having snails in the tank. They love mosquito larve also once they get bit bigger. Good luck and experiment with different things as there are several ways to "skin a cat".

    They both have a nice black undertone and a very intense silver..some of the fry are starting to get a dark grey/silver horizontal stripe along the body and the body is starting to get a slight grey tone.

    Went to the National Aquarium....very different and love the tunnel....very Kelly Tarlton like. Not sure what happended to the hologram show that was at the very top of the stairs. Anyhow, a great improvement and recommend to all.

    1 minute to Butterfly Creek? By car maybe but not by walking, takes at least 3 minutes to walk arcoss the carpark...

    Thanks Barrie, had seen that posted someplace....will be back in Auckland sadly. Would have liked to have gone, never been to a fish show....went to a cat show once.

    Oh God!!! Means I will visit home more often....which is a long time coming. Will try to visit some pet/fish stores along the way.
