I got my fingers crossed for you as well. I been trying too with mine but no luck so far this time I am going to try my blue and gold pairs in the next few day just feeding them up a bit more so they nice and fat.

At the moment they are in with a pair of blue rams and 2 clown loaches. Thinking of getting some young silver dollars not sure at the moment I am quite content with them.

Thanks I would say hes between 14 and 16 cm and she about 13 cm they wont stay still while I measure, I keep telling them too but they very stubborn and no ears lol

They pretty much made them selfs at home from the moment i let them out the bag lol eating after an hour or so. They so peaceful and so slow untill there food lol most entertaining to watch.

I got a pair of Gold Severums Of spidersweb on saturday and I have to say what awesome big fish. Male keeps dancing with her , she not interested yet so she goes and hides where he can't fit. Feeding time. I put some bottom pills in for the other fish he comes along and swallows one whole and blood worms gone within seconds they good eating machines. They have made a mess with the gravel lol picking mouthfuls up and spitting it with force so funny to watch. After getting these I have fallen for bigger fish never thought I would go that way but looks like I need bigger tanks and lots of them lol I will post a picture later.

I think they have real round bellies and u can just tell but I think it would be hard to tell on a young one.

I seen people use pvc pipe I think thats what its called , not sure if they breed in them. I seen a couple on the glass when i was at hutt pets today were decent size but didnt really take notice to what type they were or the sex of them.

Stores like dick smith and noel leeming maybe will have sheets of it , I have heard people go there and they just give it away.

if you dont have luck on here of getting a cave You could just get a coconut and take all the meat out and use that , they make great caves

I Wouldn't do it my self think its mean. They need at least 100 litres, plus they produce a lot of waste. I noticed it big time when I had them in an 80 litre the amount of waste after 2 days was huge compared to little fish.
