HI all, I would like to get a sucker fish for my tank but unsure on what to get..... Tank is 215Ltr (still can't wk out how much it can hold :roll: :-? :roll: ) Has 20 assorted Danios - do want 4 more later on.... But want a sucker to help eat algae, and something for bottom of tank ....that sort of thing.... Any ideas?? Don't want anything big! :roll: and would like to still fit in some guppys later on .... or would I be getting over stocked? Thanks for the advice & patience in advance

Sorry to hear about your loss.... sub.z... Know how you feel I lost 2 of my fantails .... same sort of thing I had "perfect" water conditions.... at least no readings.... I've now rehome my last 3 to a pond.....doing well so far.... Questions: warmth of water?......does tank get alot of sun.....Mine was getting abit to warm...... Is filter working properly...... how much do you feed?? - (this was part of my problem) Plants in tank? - found this helps.... read somewhere (after my goldy had died) that a bath in espom salts helps..... can't remember where I read it though.... will try to find out for you just incase in the future.... I now know one of my fans died because he was overeating....little pig he was .... (eat all the others food) he wouldn't eat peas either.... Espom salts is met to do the same sort of thing as peas.... All the best hope this helps....I know lossing them is no fun.... rest in peace.... Goldy, and two nameless fish...

Well I just went & brought a heater...... set at 26 ... is this ok.... Think some of my danios maybe ready to have babies.... which would be REALLY cool..... that or they are VERY fat!!

I LOVE my danios...think there the coolest little fish....even have some of mine eating out of my hand..... small is good...lots of colour......ok I'm off to go do some lite reading :lol: and get some stress coat for my water change I need to do :lol: Ianab Well so far it is ... just gets a little hotter mid day..... then back to 22..23 over night.... got a warm room... Hey what temp do they need?? ok I'll leave you all in peace for a few hours now.... :lol:

I'm still getting use to names of fish so half the time I don't know what they look like or what they best suit.... :oops: :-? only other thing is, I don't use a heater so water....would be to cold for most anyway? :-?

I know the feeling with losing fish... I have lost 2 of my fantails (I've since rehomed- to a pond) and lost 1 Daino when I first started out..... but if it hadn't been for this site I would of lost more... look forward to getting to know you. sounds like MTS is starting...I'm sure we could find you another tank.. :lol: :lol:

Thanks for your post Siperweb.... Yea thought I was doing all of that :-? .... Do miss Finfin and its only been a day... how sad is that! :-? PH was high from tap so I've now found out... so all good there... really don't know what I was doing wrong I just couldn't handle seeing them die one my one.... At the end of the day you have to do what is right for your fish and I think putting them in the pond was giving them the best chance for a long and happy life.... :bounce: Caper to answer your question yes and no.... :-? Tank is now for sale .... full set up.... I'm keeping my new tank with the Danio's ... see how it goes.... at least they suit tanks more... so far I'm having luck with them. and there fun to watch.... think it's a case of jumping in deep water before I could really swim... :lol: :oops: :lol: Still have ALOT to learn..

PH was 7.3 - 7.8 around there anyway. Bad news though.... Had another fish die this afternoon, though it look ok this morning.... I have now rehomed the last 3 fantails. one of them being my little Finfin was hard to see him go.... but they now have a home in my friends pond.... Her goldfish do really well in it so hopefully my little babies will be ok in that..... I now wonderthat water may have been getting a bit hot for them.... ?? Tank was in a rather warm room (at times anyway).... I had there tank water tested today and it all was fine... so I know it wasn't that...... they just weren't happy in tank ... but were happy to go in pond... I'll check on them in a few days ... for the best I think... :-? just sad to see them go

Well water tested... PH a little on the high side :-? everything else fine...... :-? :-? I guess thats good but doesn't help Finfin much...... Got some driftwood - believe this helps to lower ph.... I don't know... don't know what I'm don't wrong...

oh other thing is I took out there "rock" last night and have used Sterilizer on it and the net, gravel cleaner.... Haven't put rock back in yet.... "rock" been in there for a month so should be fine and was washed ready well ... but as I said I'd try anything... so going back over anything I can think of....

No haven't added anything new.... well hang on I did add some plants and a air stone but Finfin was ready this way.... hoping it would help.... I'd just about try anything at this point! :-? Did another water change last night just in case it helps.... I don't have a test kit... (thinking I should get one) I go to the pet store to do tests.... Back at work tomorrow so will get it tested on my way home.... guess up side is he/she isn't getting worse (well at least doesn't look like it). Guess I should be thankful for that.... I've even got out books and readed though them but....I have to say I'm none the wiser.... :-?
