Yea thanks thats what I thought diftwood would lower it.... which is why I'm asking you guys.... After all I'm still very new about it all.... ok any ideas on safely lowering the ph......

Cool thanks "guys" ... I think I shall put in main tank then..... My small tank is about 12ltr (but I don't really like the thought)... Tank may have too much flow though........ Have just (last week) put in an extra filter in that gives a flow for my danios to swim against... plus gives better air .... I'm now going to take out the air stone....because I won't need it... (I'm on a bit of an over kill... but perfer to have over than under.... surely that gives the fish a better life??) any more advice is welcome...

I need some advice..../help..... My PH is 7.2 from the tap.... but my PH in tank is 8. What would make the ph go higher.... Have 2 bits of diftwood, live plants, and air stone .. in tank.... My stones are black and gold ones... Also: Nitrite is .0ppm Ammonia .25ppm this has been like this for the last 2 weeks........ have been doing water changes every couple of days becuase I DON'T want any fish to die from ammonia getting to high... Advice.... Please would the high PH make ammonia go up .... or is tank recycling due to me changing all the water to get rid of bug I had in tank.... What do you think??

As per subject ... What is the smallest size tank a siamese fighter would HAPPYILY live in???? Have a small tank that I was thinking of but I think its too small..... I REALLY like the look of these fish .... and REALLY want one but just unsure on if I have a tank suited for it.... or my other questions is: would it be ok with...... Danios Rummy nose tetra's and a couple of suckly fish... (can't think of there names :oops: :oops: ) tanks 215Ltr with good air and filters.....also has live plants and a heater of course... What do you all think ... any ideas on both questions.. Cheers

See if your local fish store will get them in for you....... I know of places that do that if there is a demand for a type of fish... Worth a try if nothing else.... Good Luck! and Happy Christmas!

And Christmas traffic getting to me.... Good news is last of my fish are looking good so here HOPING!!!! Had 27 before this all started down to 9.....+1 given to me yesterday as gift from santa.... so that makes 10.... in a 215 Ltr tank :-? Also my remaining Danios breed so here's hoping the babies will grow nice and strong. Do a big water change everytime I find a dead fish..... for safety .... to other fish... found 2 more dead when I came home tonight........ someone remind me WHY I have fish again?.....I thought they were relaxing.... right now there just one BIG headache! Do love my little fishies just wish that this jolly problem would go away!.... Need to check my levels agian ... but they are always fine... so it can't be that... well I'm now down to 7 Danios and 2 sucker fish..... look totally silly in a 215Ltr tank..... but I'm NOT buying any more fish! Not at this stage anyway.....

Was a BAD one alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my cat has gone into hiding from it .... Went on for a long time here in Pukehina .... (between Whakatane and Te Puke)....we are on the coast ......and just about jumped in the car to head for high ground it was that bad.... Man I HATE them.... My fish like it though .... they were swimming around enjoying the currents - the waves were making...I've taken some water out just incase there's another big one though..... Do hope my poor cat turns back up ... she really hates them... Hope EVERYONE is ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ... yea its REALLY starting to get me down .... almost at the point of not wanting to LOOK at my tank because every time I do theres another dead fish...... Just as I was leaving home yesterday had another starting dieing...... One of my REALLY nice Long fined Danios........ Went and got Formalin.... put that in tank.... (did it just under the right dose --- just incase to hard on fish) got Lots of air .....too.... had another 3 dead this morning..... anybody what a tank.... don't know how much more a can stand of this.... ) others look ok..... and one look a bit funny but he then came right so fingers crossed.......

NO not yet ...... will call in there today.... Had another fish die last nite... and have a couple this morning that not look to good :-? My mates just picked them out of tank and put salt on them to see if we can save them...... ALL I want for CHRISTMAS is well FISH!! If this doesn't stop soon I'm not going to have any fish left!!!

:lol: :lol: I know how you feel there I'm vey fussy with mine and I still got these guys some while back..... It is from over feeding.... :oops: :roll: :-? Just cut back on food ... do a couple of water changes (vac gravel) for a week or two and sweet as no more little worms. and yes I hated the look of them too.... makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

Best of luck with your fish.....we all know the joys of sick fish and how annoying it can be. I'm at the point of wanting to shout with mine. I've found taking deep breaths and not taking it to heart helps..... I do feel for you.... Sounds like your on track so everything will soon settle and you can sit back and enjoy your fish. Tip for now on....have a spare tank or even a container you can put any new fish and PLANTS in, that way you can watch them in there for a while first and not get "bugs" in your nice tank.... I've learnt the hard way.... lost 8 fish and heaps of fry..... because I got a bug from putting things stright in tank..... and I'm still trying to get things right ..... weeks later!

Yea you'll be right there 2 females 1 male.... sounds text book to me re rounded belly female/slimline male .... I have 20 odd Danios and thats how mine are. :lol: At least only having one male the females have a chance in getting a break.... the males chase females when "laying" .... can get a bit out of hand if you have lots of males chasing 1 poor old female... Only other thing is Danios are a school fish :-? :-? and really like to be in a school of 6+.... :-? Fun to watch darting around tank.... they will come up to you too...

That males in heaven :lol: Best of luck, there's always someone wanting fish... but at least you have another option....

:lol: :lol: Hate to tell you Mrs Frog but I've found Danio's like to breed like rabbits.... :lol: :lol: re don't you have - Zebra's ?? :lol: :roll: you can always sell them or do what Ianab does with his fish and get a bigger fish to eat fry.... By the way Ianab ... I like your thinking, I may just do that with my fish...
