Danios are great for starting of tanks.... I have 20 + :lol: :lol: :roll: :roll: Very hardy I've found.... plus there really cool to watch darting around the tank

I'd do this! I've done this on my tank and it worked nicely.... nice wool blankets are good I think doing an electric blanket is too much of a risk. .... but thats me.

oh well I'm sweet.... didn't think it would be to much of a problem as they are all danios..... though pefer to have sort by sort. guess I'll just have to wait and see what they all are..... Do think its mainly zebra's though..... wouldn't mind a few lepoards.... yet again maybe not, I don't want my danios to hear that!!!! :lol: :roll: :lol: I REALLY don't need any more!! :roll:

One has thought of that..... :-? Zebra's were the first lot to breed and I was watching them so they'll should be sweet.... zebra male, zebra female. not sure about my lepoards and golds though....they've just got babies now... and I can't be 100% about them..... :-? :-? will have to see what babies come out like I guess....... :-? oh dear..... How did I get myself into this?? :roll: I think they are lepoards... as golds are still fat.... but then males are males and I don't know if I can trust the gold boys.... All Danios in main tank are 4 - 5cm.... parent ones :lol: I have another tank set up which babies go into..... Zebra and Lepoards parents are from 2 different pet stores so hopefully from conpletely different parents.....

Question - how long has your tank been running?? I'm not much help, as still very new myself but has the tank fully cycled? I wouldn't fully clean out your filter as you will lost your good media...if really worried you can take water from your tank and "wash" filter in that... this way you don't loss your media.... Goldfish are very "dirty" fish.... they poo alot!!!!!!! I'm sure someone here will be able to help more, good luck.

Coming out my ears!!!!! :roll: Think my danios are in too good a condition..... they won't stop breeding!! :roll: I'm now finding more in my main tank! How they've escape there parents I'll never know.. want some danios?? I've got a breeding program going and I didn't know it, could go into business at this rate Fry are going well about a 1cm long.... theres are least 2 types..... by the looks... Really don't know what I'm doing...its a learning curve.... :lol: They really don't look like much...I'm still feeding them liquid fry food... IF you have ANY tips I'll be VERY grateful....... I'll try to get a good photo and post it.

Rather like the sound of all this..... filling buckets up and throwing water out can be a pain.... I always end up spilling water on the carpet.... :oops: :roll: Have you got pic's I'd be interested in getting one... they sound great!

if you REALLY want to breed have a breeding tank set up and put girl in there first then male.... as per what others have said.... other wise you have danios coming out or ears !!!!!!!!!! :lol: :lol: or like me have to set something up in a hurry and try to save babies from there parents..... no fun for fish or for me... best of luck!! trust me they're REALLY easy to breed!

I'm NO expert ... after all I have a post on here asking what to do now I've breed them! :roll: I have: 6x Zebra 6x Leopards 4x Gold 4x pearls I think the zebras are the easiest...?? I'm sure I've read that.... Plus I now have baby danios which I think are mainly from the zebra's.... little too early to tell..... Though in my case I have good reason to believe I could have zebra, leopards, and gold babies..... As all three types have had/have "fat mummys". What I did: THEY DID IT THEM SHELVES!!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :roll: :lol: OK: I've been feeding mine bloodworm (THEY GO CRAZY OVER IT!) and Brineshrimp... I believe Tubifex is another one but I've only just got that now.... Frozen "live" food is the way to go..... gets them in good condition and just puts them in breeding mode... At least thats how it happened for me..... You'll want to have tank at about 25-26 they then spawn at first light.... My tank gets a ray of sun first thing so this helped me... (I believe it gets them going more?) You'll want to have fine-leaved vegetation in your breeding tank (though for me it was in my main tank :oops: :lol: )

I've done the same sort of thing....just using a kids nite light.... works really well!!!! I get to enjoy the fish at nite without cause any ill affects... at least so far so good..... Nite lights are good cause they not give out too much light and there designed to be on all nite..... so don't get hot....

no... :lol: just Danio's I'm Danio crazy u see.... 20 in fact.... 8) :lol: Oh do have one sucker fish... but that was brought after the fact..

Ok came home 2 days ago to do a water change on fish tank... tipping out water when I noticed something moving...... Have had what I think are girls Danios very fat.... now not so ..... think I must have breeded (without even trying :lol: :oops: ) WHAT DO I DO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've put these small :roll: "things/fish" :roll: in my tank I'm trying to sell and they look ok....maybe even growing.... went and brought some liquidfry food for them... is there any thing else I should be doing or ...... advice please...

Yep sounds like it to me too.... :lol: :lol: I've just had some of mine look the same... Came home two days ago to find little baby danios .... As least I think thats what they are.... very small... I've been told there easy to breed so sounds like thats what has happen... Best of Luck.

Well I ended up getting a borneo suckers/chinese hillstream loaches. Thought this was the best one to go for as smaller, which fits in with tank mates..... Cutie little guy, glad to be in big tank I think....looks like he/she can't decided where to start first....will need to get another one to keep him/her company (shop only had one). Am wondering though should I drop temp down its 25 now...... Want them all to be happy.....
