It was awesome to meet you too Stella I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it was great seeing so many native fish in that small stream
  6. Yes I'd love to come :happy2: My tanks are not worth looking at right now. Lots of algae, and the cacatuoides is in the isolation net and nothing exciting is happening with my fish at the moment.

Let me know if you guys are going hunting for native fish because I want to come too please :bounce:
  9. I really don't know what happened, but the fry hatched and disappeared. I think they got eaten by the male trifasciata again  Next time I'm going to remove him. Or actually, I suppose what I could do is just breed them in the main tank and siphon any fry into one of the 80L tanks.

  12. Here's the whole article: http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/c ... p?sid=5264
  13. And they're a freshwater organism, and on the news report he said "it theatened to wipe out some of our marine life"
  14. I reckon she should have studied hard and got some good qualifications, and then looked at getting non-invasive plants added to the allowed list (if that's even possible...) so she could safely import stuff into NZ that won't harm our waterways, instead of importing stuff illegally.
  15. Here's an article - http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/7764864 ... n-Trade-Me And here's a video of it for anyone who missed it on the news - http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/student ... 4356/video Personally I don't see why anyone would want to take the risk of importing that stuff, especially with the penalties she could have ended up with. And we have many lovely native plants here that can be used in aquariums, so I don't see why anyone would want those rediculous-looking algae balls.
  16. Beautiful ram, and gorgeous rotala too !drool:
