Try a local quarry some nice limestone down your way

You could use gutter guard to build a cage for the pump to stop larger bits going thru the pump, may need to clean the cage a bit though

If no luck i have a complete unit with bottom of canister brokeded -
Tropical marine, sump, 25c, flow pumps 145% D.O. 4 x Air stones and heaps of air 105%

You may also find the eels will clean up your inverts over time unless you have lots of vegetative cover

We had a lot of trouble with spammers and sock puppets so some addresses were banned, they have been unbanned but still don't seem to be working :dunno: I think i brokeded it

never had a gasping fish in my cichlid tanks and never an airstone either

There is more dissolved oxygen in my tanks with flow pumps and good surface movement than the ones with just airstones, if i increase the air through the stone or use wooden stones there is more DO. but then a lid is needed to contain the water from bubbles breaking and salt creep.

a hurried vid of the tanks i am running first 4 are tropical marine on one sump clowns and bangai are breeding next 4 are cold on 1 system same with last 3 1 system

As above need a broody bantam hen or larger breed to sit on some eggs
