  1. they grow really fast when young, then start to slow at around the 50 - 60cn mark growth rates are dependant on a number of factors don't feed it it won't grow
  2. that is the problem with bigger aros hard to place somewhere, so resell price may reflect that there is always the national aquarium for when it's bigger

  7. to answer the topic question silver aros can grow to 1.2m plus and are one of the fastest fish around over a short distance they are able to propel their whole body out of the water from a standing start aros can turn in a small space but too small a tank for too long can stunt their growth if well fed they are fast growing with a 2 year old fish easily reaching 60+ cm in a large tank as said 7 - 8 foot x 3 foot wide would be a minimum size for a 3 year plus aro i am going to upgrade my tank for the 2 i have
  8. the cuts on my hands came from using a craft knife with the snap off blades :evil: sad thing about it is after the first time it happened i did the same thing a couple of years later and cut the same spot :oops: seperating 2 10mm glass plates with a craft knife and brute force is a recipe for disaster

  10. score the broken pane with glass cutter then tap directly on opposite side on the score mark till it cracks then bend broken peices and score glue with craft knife blade works easiest for me don't forget the H&S when handling glass
  11. you can carve the punakaiki rock look into any limestone type rock, though natural if you can find it is best soaking the stone before carving is easier and not as dusty

  15. i have had it for about 11 years, it came from the local rock shop, i got the left overs of a palette someone had bought for a house front entrance not quite the same but there are a few coastal limestone formations around nz that are interesting looking
  16. depending on the minerals present when it was formed it can be shades of white, pink, grey or brown mine is a cream colour, it came off the west coast of the south island somewhere

  21. sometimes too tight a fitting can cause a small leak on o rings, i run all aqua ones and have no problems o rings must be free from any dust etc or no small tears or nicks on them are all pipes 100% secure, air in system usually comes on the inflow side
