  1. it is good to ask what others think and their opinions or experiences then you can make an informed descision on what best suits you i stared out and i made some impulse buys that turned out to be bad descisions would have been good to have a forum of experienced people to draw on in those days research and ask and most of all don't blindly believe what you are told even what i have just written until you are told it at least 3 times
  2. http://www.rnsnz.com/nci.asp MAYBE INFO HERE
  3. rubbing my ego won't get you any cheaper a price if i do decide to rehome this zebra also i didn't breed this zebra it just suddenly appeared i am not concerned that i don't know the parentage as i realise you will take what i say at face value i can supply the flying pig you speak of, we have mini kunekune but you will have to find your own catapult P.S. i had a foot massage once and ended up with athletes back
  4. yes ornates are fascinating :bounce:
  5. because it will end up a fish you will need to unload later and it will eat any plants in my eperience 50cm in 2 yrs
  6. do you really think that a photo of the actual zebra in question will make the ID any clearer i think you are just horsing around
  7. don't get giant gourami
  8. that would be som good ideas seahorsecrazy to samh you nerd who visits nirvana the patterning doesn't match the burchell closely enough mind you trying to id from a photo is hard if i blur the photo and make it smaller it might make it easier to claim it as a burchells
  9. woke up this morning to find this zebra swimming in my tank i can't get a photo of it as it is moving too fast to get a decent pic and because of the lack of room i can't get far enough away from the 2 foot tank to get all the zebra in it does tend to fill the tank though so i got a pic off the net to show you what it might look like at a rough guess, well colouration looks like a zebra anyway if anyone can confirm my suspicions of the species then i can find a mate for it and start breeding them here is the pic confuseduis say like a leopard a zebra never changes its stripes P.S. please forget all i have just written as i have just realised i am still asleep and sleep typing
  10. usually better where a river enters the sea all the easy to get stuff is probably at the LFS
  11. it is amazing when an animal wants to breed it will breed anywhere tried to stop my lorrikeets from breeding so took out the nestbox they dug a hole in the ground and raised chicks there
  12. those look like an african hedgehog
  13. try shorter periods and see if that has an affect?
  14. that would be a mission Zev probably find most of those listings are done by males i have people come in and say they have a massive fish tank they walk in the fishroom and see the 2.4s and say now they are massive tanks there are a few expletives when they see the aro tank
  15. 4x2x2 is small seriously to your average fish keeper i would class a 4 foot as a big tank, 6 foot plus as huge 8 foot plus as massive
  16. is he doing a moult at the moment or has sheaths covering parts of some of his feathers? indoor birds can go through a "perpetual moult" where they lose feathers all year round outdoor birds do seasonal moults over a short period budgies being smaller would produce less dust during these times whereas a maroon belly may produce more being a young bird he may also be creating more as his feathers develop just a thought
  17. in theory you should br allergic to both as feathers and skin are the same on both birds but a few more times on your shoulder should give you a better indication i too hope it isn't so too
  18. judging by the overall condition of the specimen it may be a pair short of the full set
