    specie survey

First post for many years. Im looking at getting back Killies over the next few months. When I had them last time, I kept maybe 18 specie but in reading posts, most have dissapared from our shoes. Could I ask those who have them to list what they have so that we will know what is here and hopefully wont lose any more Thanks
  2. Just to be clear! I did not mean that to cycle is stupid I meant that to say that the law is such in such and the motorist is wrong wont save your life and there fore EVERY cyclist has to assume that the drivers are going to make a mistake. The end result( that I got sick and tyred of trying to point out) is that the cyclist has no protection and has a good chance of being killed. Quite frankly, this site and the way children take things that are written has forced me to stop bothering helping people. I have given away thousands of dollars worth of glass and helped with advise to do with glass but as far as Im concerned, they can do without me I have had a guts full
  3. John hosted the 2009 conference at his home and welcomed all there. He arranged baches all around the bay and I found him a great guy. He was very generous in all that he did in regards to that conference. He spent the last couple of years working on "his wife's home" on top of the hill and was very proud of it. It was, as wok said, impossible not to but a raffle and the way he auctioned things of was to say the least, very costly. He had a very special place in his heart for Caryl and my thought are with his family and Caryl as well
  4. isnt it interesting that you can pick a persons age by the way they think they are indestructable My final word and hope that you cyclists survive another year in this wonderful world Good luck and may your death be quick and your final words be "but I was in the right"
  5. Who comes out 2nd best? The drivers are in the wrong but whos in hospital or worst? Cyclists are idiots if they dont give way and make allowances for their size and exposure regardless of whos in the right or wrong
  6. I certianly have no hatred but to me common sense should come into it and cyclists should know that they will end up second best when the motorist makes a mistake. Often here near schools, kids will simply walk out infront of traffic knowing that the law say the moterist has to give way to those approching a crossing. Car vs person, I know where I dont want to be Cyclists and those on footpaths take stupid risks against cars and probably rest peacfully 6ft down known they were within the law.. plain stupid
  7. Josh lying on the ground half dead under the car telling it that it should have given way? Nup, the hard powerfull machine that feels no pain has rite of way Maybe not by law but by health it has
  8. I agree that cyclist have the same rites to the road as I do as a driver. If I make a mistake I get a small amount of damage to my car, if that mistake was a cyclist, he/she will be badly injured. My pet hate with cycles is those that creep up the inside of the lane while we are stopped in heavy traffic and when the lights turn green cyclists peddle of as fast as they can 1 to 1.5 meters out from the kerb. There is no longer 1.2 meters that the law tells me I have to leave as room for them and if Im lucky, Im achievinga speed of 20 to 30 kms per hour. Small centres wont have that problem but I get it every morning from say 8am to 9.30am End result may well be that I get really fustrated one day and pass when I shouldnt and hit and possibly kill one. My fault, of course with out a doupt. Im still breathing and maybe they will also if they are lucky. When they get to leave hospital they are likely to be on social welfare for a long time but I would have been at work the next day. Again, my fault yes
  9. what are you doing in visiting paradise?
  10. you may well also add that as no thickness was specified, you have used a recomended thickness of ** as recomended by the FNZAS
  11. Cheap is an interesting term People tell me that they have a cheap place because they can get it for a discount. The best thing is to get prices If you can cut your own glass then the rubbish collections are possibly good A lot of people (Glass companies/Glaziers) dont make tanks so we can only use the standards and recomendations to make the tanks by. Those are over the top in most cases as we are looking at maximum strength, not what we can get by with. There are serious problems for us legally if we were to make them as weak as a lot of "tank makers" make them. Are their tanks strong enough? probably as you guys dont have too many problems but if we made them and a problem arose and someone was injured, we could be fined up to $500,000. Its simply not worth the risk for most. As far as taking a while, unless your making them all the time and therefore set up for it, tanks get in the way and there are far more profitable areas to put food on the table. Anyone thats been to my factory knows that I simply have no room and the only area to store tanks are where the trucks drive in to load and off load
  12. Make sure you never bring that in to me to cut! Its like taking flower into the baker and asking them to bake your bread for you Ok, I will cut the rubbish for people I know but glass companies sell glass so asking them to cut rubbish is real cheeky
  13. The organisation/direction is probably the main reason to join a club. At the conference/AGM in June each year, these things are set up. With the people putting their hands up now, Im sure that the exec abd sub committee will be excited and looking forward to working with people as keen.
  14. At a guess I would email the sec Im not a member of them, Im in the Killi club (supprised?)
  15. Im sure that if its through the FNZAS, they would be looking at funding some of it Im not on the fish committee so Im guessing but it would make sense
  16. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/index.php?PG=AFA Its on the home page David Click on the forum home page banner Cheers B
  17. The best way would be to work within the FNZAS so that there is a body/organisation to work through
