nope! (well not as far as im aware) we just cut it in half, removed the coconut and plonked them on in, the SAE's had a great time nibbling on the wiskers!

yeah not really parents eating the fry that you have to worry about with Jewels, just if mum and dad dont feel like they are "protecting" their babies, they may attack each other, so the two tanks you have if you can put them hard up against eachother so that they can see the old tank mates and still think that they are protecting the babies then they should be ok, hope that makes sens :roll: e

you may actually find that mum and dad will keep them away from the filter intakes, i know ours do that,

Yip! there's probably about 30 or so in what used to be a "community" tank, i know jewels arent reccomended for a comunity tank because of their nature but ours have always been fine!

Im going to have to go with the "tomorrow" series by John marsden Loved the series so much ive red all 7 books 3 times each now -
Yep ours do the same, tho they only seem to chase other fish away, and unless they are protecting their eggs they are qutie peacefull
