i had duckweed in my tank at one stage and i had a few power heads so it went everywhere, its easy to get out just requires alot of scooping.

my blue rams are well behaved, maybe your not feeding them enough and the fighters fins are a tempting snack

try floating the block in a container, instead of the tank,and then pour some in the tank. That way you can control how much calcium goes in
