  1. Everyone, this is a real wakeup call to earthquake/disaster preparation. We've all seen the ads telling us to prepare, but how many of us do? I wish we'd had proper torches, batteries, a battery powered radio... Bottled water... brackets on furniture! My book case fell over onto my bed just as I got out of it. House is fine though, we got lucky I think. Just got water sloshed all over the floor.... But others are not so fine, I'll wait for them to tell their stories though GRRRRRRRRRRRRR can't believe there are looting scum, just seeing the news now.
  2. Just got power back on, all fine here. No damage at our house, just got a lot of water sloshed out of fish tank! Next time P44 tells someone off for having low levels, tell him it's to prevent earthquake spillages. Omg. It was seriously the scariest earthquake I have ever felt, and it went on for ages and there's aftershocks ever half hour or so.
  3. Yeah... I wonder if there's some sort of converter thing, but that's beyond our knowledge, so hoping someone can figure it out for me
  4. Is it possible to some how record Donna's bit and then upload that to YouTube? Could someone in the know possibly do this? There are some overseas turtle fans who are wanting to view this but can't on the TVNZ site.
  5. Yay, I saw it! Donna looked great! As did the turtles. Whoever sees it go on TVNZonDemand first, post the link
  6. Will be this Sunday at 7.30 on Animal Academy (TVNZ6 for those who have Freeview or Sky) If you don't have this channel, it will go up on TVNZ on demand within a few days, I'll post a link to the video later. This is Donna's 3rd or 4th TV segment now :bounce: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Turtle-Rescue-and-Rehoming/106834146021300?ref=ts (Join the Facebook fan page here)

  10. http://www.doc.govt.nz/about-doc/role/international/endangered-species/faq/#coral Sooo, only small, dead, finger like bits are allowed. eg When I was in Fiji, I found a bit of brain coral on the beach but didn't bring it back 'cos I knew I wasn't allowed. Out of curiosity, did you declare it when you brought it in Omaria?
  11. I neeeeeeeeeed a desktop background version of that
  12. How recently was this? Aren't you not allowed to bring coral into the country, under CITES regulation?
  13. Got mine, I'm totally fine with the new covers. Especially if it saves money. Hey JarrenB, cute new avatar! Is that Lucky? She looks so good these days.
  14. You could get a bit of foam and attach it to the inlet if you're worried.
  15. One of my clown killies will only eat the red flake, he definitely sees and watches the greens and oranges float past, but will only go for the red bits. Reminds me of my flatmate's preference for red/purple skittles/m&ms... and dislike of brown/orange ones.
  16. See http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=34871&hilit=lfs+christchurch and http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=44403&hilit=lfs+christchurch Best one is Organism, and Redwood Aquatics is really good if you go at the right time ie just after a shipment is released.
  17. A drone fly? Or a male honey bee?
  18. No work, I'll be on time. Should I bring garlic bread or oven pizza or oven chips???
  19. Anyone coming, bring your cameras. We might just have some fish-photo taking lessons organised. If not, we'll figure it out ourselves.
  20. You know you're meant to go click (or unclick) the adjust for daylight savings button right? It's not the site's fault it's out, you have to tell it what timezone you're in for it to be correct.
