  1. I don't know. Does anyone live near Epsom??
  2. Just keep the water clean and the current low and you will see them start to heal. Or you could put a couple of drops of melafix in the water if you are really worried.
  3. By the way I'm a she my husband delivered them to you.
  4. Well put. Thats exactly how mine breed too. The breeding tank only has adults and my bn including the pair Manmeet has now bred in the fighter tanks using the holes in the driftwood for caves.
  5. my thoughts - you will get a ct looking fish that you won't be able to tell whether its male or female for ages as it will have short fins and a tail. My opinion - a cross will be a mess.
  6. I am certain its not caused by food as 3 of my discus are absolutely clean bodied and the other three have peppering. They all share the same diet. When I first got them they were orange and orange/white and have gradually become speckly.
  7. Its definately a problem but sorry don't know what.
  8. I've only even seen rams having a go at each other unless they are in the breeding mood. Being the new fish in the tank, yes they may be the culprits or the fact that you have added something new to the tank may have unsettled the other fish. Are they the 'ramirez' rams or 'bolivian' rams.
  9. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong but discus especially those crossed with pigeon? do pepper if there is a darker background area in the tank to blend in with. Mine have also done it, there is a black backing on my tank. I do not know if it ever disappears.
  10. Cams correct. Some males are a bit lazy. As long as yours is picking up the eggs he is cleaning them and keep them free from fungus. The ones he is picking up should be fertile as they seem to know when not to bother. Congrats. I had a couple of spawns hatch yesterday - one has at least 100 the other has 2.
  11. i have sterbais in with my discus and they are perfectly happy and still growing at 30 degrees.
  12. Can you breed within families. I have a line of fighters that I paired brother with sister for 4 generations and then introduced a new male. By using the best I am slowly improving on what I started with.
  13. A town can you label yours. I would love to know what they are.
  14. Very nice David - some of them are very similar in colourings, tail types to some of my up and coming fighters. You're doing very well.
  15. Neuter him and it will certainly help - now he knows how to get out, everytime a bitch comes on heat in the neighbourhood he will be gone. Either raise the fence, put a hot wire on it or keep him chained.
  16. Yes, females do flare. Are you having problems?
  17. nice tanks and I like the fighter as well.
  18. for a laymans explanation disolved chlorine will stay in solution in akaline conditions but not acid conditions. The lower the pH the less disolved chlorine will remain in the water. Acetic acid is good because the pH won't drop so low as to kill off the brine shrimp but will lower the pH sufficiently to remove the chlorine. The already posted technical answers seem correct.
  19. can you take a pic from above looking down on him.
  20. theres sometimes those hanging wall tanks on tm here in nz
  21. If nautical nonsense be something you wish
  22. Pics? ..... Please. How did the next spawn go?
  23. He's fairly similar to his father in colouring but body is more marbled (Dad had cambodian in him). Not my favourite sort of colourings unfortunately but he's still rather nice none the less, has single ray tips on his tail which hopefully will develop more. Its an interesting range of colours I'm getting from these. The mothers were full sisters, the fathers unrelated - one an import and the other from my breedings.
