    Angelfish

Dixon - behave yourself, you had Cam really worried then
  8. heres an update at Cams request. different fish to the ones above but these are around the 10 - 12 weeks of age. two veiltails 2 cts yellows are growing well and some have the ct rays from their mother.
  9. not sure about adults but I do know that when I first got my bn they moved so fast several ended up out of the tank - they sucked so fast up the sides of the glass they just kept on going
  10. I belong to the Marlborough Club how do I register my breedings up here?
  11. Use some of the water from the existing tank - the more the better and if you can use some media as well it would be even better. The fry won't have much effect on the bio-load themselves but be careful not to overfeed them because if you do the uneaten waste will. Be careful if you are using anything other than a sponge filter that the fry don't get sucked in.

    Crowning age?

Lol - I posted some about 10 days ago. Not setting up spawns at the moment. Too many fish!!! Will maybe update my pics tomorrow.
  13. they look really good Ron - after all your efforts its nice to see them looking so good. Have you any green ones like the tank you had of halfmoons.

    Glass catfish

thats a pretty good looking tank - is it yours?
  15. Yuk Take him back - he could not have caught that in the short time you have had him. But yes you will most likely have to treat all the tank anyway.
  16. An icecream container floating inside the tank is better than nothing. Yes you probably will need to treat the tank as if it is cotton wool mouth it is highly infectious and can even be spread by food.
  17. If you are certain its cotton wool mouth I would isolate him - you can get rock salt from the supermarket if there is one handy to you. First thing tomorrow get something like furan. Remove all carbon from your filters before treating the tank. Can you post a pic.
  18. I know this isn't aimed at me but if I don't know who the email is from I generally don't open it these days as its usually something disgusting. So message to anyone trying to email me - in the subject line put fnzas.
  19. have you got rock salt or tonic salt? What else have you in the tank? you can add 1 gram per litre to the water depending on what else is in there or take the fighter out and put him in a seperate container floating and salt that instead.

    Crowning age?

theyre good and whats wrong with using a magnifier
  21. My tank has now been running for 5 months. In that time the only two things that have grown well are the val and bba (the later is slowly being checked back). The swords are growing but very very slowly. I think my problem is that as it is a discus tank it gets a 30% water change 2x a week and a very very thorough vacuum 1 - 2 x times a week. The lighting is slightly on the low side still. I use flourish excel at nearly 2x strength every night. Would the fact that I use a sump decrease the flourish effectiveness in any way or is it just that I suck the nutrients out of the soil on a regular basis. Should I use fertiliser tabs?
  22. Yep, theres cambodian somewhere in there. A lot of mine have been throwing the cambodian coloured bodies as well and no idea where its coming from.

    Crowning age?

Crowntails are pretty much born with the rays developing. You should be able to see them at 4wks with a magnifying glass.
  24. we have a pump running at exactly the same rate as the tank output. It makes for a good turnover over water.
  25. I thought that if you used flourish excel you didn't need to use anything else but from what I've read on here today thats not right. Should I be using something else as well to help my plants grow.
