If I could only talk Caryl into giving me a techie job down there I'd have to seriously think about the relocate Never been to NZ but had a blast in AUS when I was there for two weeks, mind you I was 17ish at the time. Still have the Longcoat I bought there too (made in Canada, bought in Australia, brought back to Canada. LOL)

I'm just to the East of Toronto, work calls me into TO quite a bit as a Network Consultant so I do get to pop in and out of the odd fish shop that I see when there is time.

I know a couple of the Guppy breeders in the area here that actually use green water for raising the more specialized fry, I could be wrong but I don't think it will harm the fish any, just less atractive for us humans to look at. -

If in a trap most likly she aborted a good number and ate the others.. Traps are not very fish friendly as much as they are sold for the purpose you are using it for they are not suited to it for any of the larger livebearers ie platties mollies swords etc not sure on the others ..

I have used my diatom once with the gravel vac attached but the output went back into tank as I wanted to test something at the time and it did work pretty good. Is different to look at the "gunk" in the bottom of a diatom then it is the sink.

The flow rate drop would be similar in any cannister, unless it was a poor design and the water was flowing around the pouch that is and in such case pointless to be in the filter as it is only taking space. Idea would be to have the pouch cover the entire surface of the filter like the pads do and be evenly spread as to stop from having "bypass holes".

Basically wher I suggested above the pad that sits on the balls at top as the water acually feed from the bottom up through the filter. Taking a lil of the ceramic out will lower the position of the Blue pad and a lil of the balls will lower the white pad leaving room on top of it for the Pouch of Purigen etc.

I would stay FAR away from the Hydor inlines based on the remarks I have seen to date on other forums all bad.. Love the idea but when I haven't seen one "good" post about them and a mutitude of bad reviews ya gotta wonder.

Running 2217 Classics myself and wouldn't suggest putting anything in the bottom spacer myself..

Put a lil less of the ceramics and balls in and there should be room on top of where they are.

What type of fish are doing this as it maybe thier feeding type too. ie, Mollies will often "mouth" the surface. Personally I like a nice stream of bubbles for both looks and as mentioned the added oxygen and current.

When I was dog-sledding al my dogs were chiped at 6mos old. Figure some of my dogs(seems to light a word) were in excess of 6500+USD based on breeding and wins etc etc.. Very expensive "hobby" it was.. -
Deposit for carts is usually a quarter which in the end doesn't deter those that do not have cars etc from walking home with them after a large shop when thier from where ever comes in. See them stacked like fish tanks in a guppie house beside and in corridors of buildings etc.

I use a 10gal as a "Maturnaty" tank and have it slightly over palnted Move the female well before due date and should be good ta go.

Might wanna check the current prices as a 250ml at my LFS is only 20CDN. Not sure what exchange rate is though so that may be the difference.
