Now seriously the pic below is of swords but the same holds for Mollies Platties, Guppies etc. Just ignore the sword tail portion when looking at the other fish Ignoring the swordtail on the male we can see the difference between the anal fins of the make and female. His is like a lil spike sticking backwards (he can actually turn and manipulate the angle when mating) where as hers is fanned out more like a normal fin. Female as in the picture is usually more robust vs the trim male.

Was the aquarium Club auction night here in Durham last night and as the evening progressed (got later and people had to go 1 by 1) some of the items were starting to go really inexpensive for not wanting to say cheap Anyway I snagged a male/female pair of Mirabilis Moeusis or at least that is what the bag is tagged with for one Canadian Dollar. Don't see Killies here in Canada often if at all. Just figured I share my aquistion

Try feeding Wafers when ya gots Mollies in same tank GRRRRRRRR!!! Not like the mollies don't get enough food they have to go after the wafers, veggies you name it they wanna eat it..

I like the Tetra Whisper air pumps. Wide base and thick rubber feet. Have been replacing all my air pumps with them since I bought the first one. I also run Cannister or OHF's on tanks along side of the UGF.

I was being a smart arse regarding declorinate the water.. Kinda pointing out the "hoops" we go through for our fish to have "safe" water vs. just filling a glass from the tap to give to our kids. (Side note I have a filter system on my kitchen taps as I don't want to drink or even cook with the water the town/city says is "safe")

And that is why we declorinate our water before adding to our fish tanks ?? Quite often I have my doubts as to what is and isn't safe in my "potable" water from the city.... Do a google on Walkerton sometime!!

One of the Guys in the Fish club I belong to says all he did was put em into the salt tank .. Temps should be the same though as I find Mollies do NOT like temp changes or at least quick changes.. Ick and such pretty much everytime I have seen a rapid temp change with Mollies. The Sailfins do get larger then the Normal Varieties as you quoted and are that much more to look at. I have a preference for both the Dalmation and Green Neon Sailfins myself, They dwarf my 24k Mollies by a good bit.

ACK!!!! Sorry for loss and poor lil guys. Looked awesome too... Never did like lidless tanks. Too easy for things to get in or out. Be it jumping fish or kids playing, other pets or just standard household dust and sprays in the air.

www.tropica.com Take a look through the plants and figure out what you've got. Or post a pic and someone here may be able to ID the plant. From there we can figure out a lil more easily what's what and needed etc.

Have Swords Platties and Mollies and have yet to see them interbreed. the Males will chase each other a lil but have not seen a breeding cross as yet. hmm.. Sailfin Dalmation Wag Sword ?? nah..

Do fins padder ? I always thought more a swish or swirl .. Looking good though
