  1. i have a large fryeri & peacock female in with the red empress male & he did not even look at them, they have been together for around a year & at no time have they spawned. i am unsure about the livingstoni crossing specifically but have found the empress has stuck to his own females.
  2. if your trying to entice breeding i don't think that plants will do alot to help that.
  3. could you plumb in the auto changer into the canister piping & buy a canister with an in built heater?
  4. we are very well aware of who he is, there have been many a discussion into the way he produces & sells fish. unfortunately it seems that he is the only one that thinks what he does is right. & as for the hand thing... huh? mine are hand reared
  5. have you seen the other thread? i don't believe anyone has them already

  10. really, a mate used to catch wild ones & put them in his huge avery. he had a cage that had a compartment at the bottom where you put a rosella & it would attract another which would land on a perch on the top compartment & it would fall in & the door would shut over it. i don't recall them getting.
  11. my son built a bird feeder & fills it with honey water & seed which atracks them i believe, there are alot of them here.
  12. spoken like a true fancy plec breeder
  13. tropheus numbers need increasing, dubs are quite commonly breed now so pembas or moliro will be a good start

    Hi all

it's more their priorities & whats most important is misdirected IMO welcome caldwell
  15. really, after the enitial algae that comes with a new tank mine has been bright white ever since.
  16. nice melons henward
  17. they probably don't, i hear they are a pain to keep but i have no experience with them.
  18. there won't be any difference between you carrying them or sending them on a courier, they will need to be packed the same. they may need to be put in a single large bag as big as the poly box & maybe 1 fish per box, there may be someone that can clarify this but the actual transport will make no difference IMO.
  19. so don't do it, pay for courier. how do the fish get couriered from whangarei to chch over night? it's not driven there
  20. it should be sealed with acid cure silicone which is the same as what the tank has been joined with. you will need to empty & dry the area, i would cut back the old silicone & reseal the area.
  21. just as if i was couriering them, in bags in a poly box in my carry bag.
  22. i flew that route & they x-rayed it & nothing was even asked.
