That sounds pretty odd, no mater what is heating the water the heater should turn off when it is at the set temp. have you got another thermometer to check if the one you have in the tank is correct? i have jager heaters which keep the tank within 1 degree of what it's set at & when i have the fire going they don't stay on to heat the tank.

i wouldn't/didn't bother.

my free ranging chickens regularly create nests & sit & no chickens from them yet as we have no rooster, maybe the way the industry hybrid chickens are now they don't need a male input .....

i lay a blanket over each tank covering it completly when we had that done & it was no problem at all.

can you please clarify what you mean Alan? what site & are personal attacks there allowed ? this is about fishkeeping, i would like to know which one they have been confirmed by as the people that have done so would have experience with wild caught fish & if indeed they are something rare i would be very interested in them.

a week on & the juvies look to be growing very well, moliros are starting to show some red in their fins & the pemba is showing a faint blaze through its stripes. there has been a little chasing by the largest moliro of the smaller moliro but that is the only aggro i have seen so far. the adult pembas are trying to breed with each other & have shown no interest in the juvies.

back when i had angels i had 2 pairs & man did they scrap. they had an end each & would meet in the middle to fight & head back to their ends. yours do this?

this might not be to accurate they are reasonably common so i am sure you may not have too much trouble getting some when you want to.

i found the metriclima species to be shockers for destroying plants, particularly res zebs & cobalts but the yellows & peacocks didn't seem to do much to the plants at all.

there is a guy that breeds them up here, every time he supplies them to the LFs they all die off over a period of time. it's usually 3 or 4 days between each dieing, this has happened 3 times now & the last batch was about 12 fish. maybe there is a transcriptus disease like the neon disease.

i used a craft knife with the blade extended right out & have it as horizontal as possible. mine have new blades so are sharp & long so i guess it would be difficult if they were shorter.

I will run this over a considerable time to see how it pans out. Some say this should not or will not work but from my experience i will be fine. I have purchased these juvies so it is my $ on the line. a week ago i added 9 tropheus moliro juvies & 1 tropheus pemba, all around 3cm to a 200L 4 foot tank that already has red empress juvies (approx 20 between 4&6cm) & 10 approx 6cm tropheus pembas. In this week the juvies already seem to have grown & i have not witnessed (i have been watching them like a proud new parent :lol: ) any harrasment from the larger fish apart from the first hour when they were introduced. Also during this week two of the pembs have spawned, i have a female holding so the aggression levels have been up. so far the larger fish don't seem to show any interest in the juvies at all, i will continue to watch them when ever i can & update with what i find.

is this the val we cant get?
