  2. Hi all, with summer approaching & my family now being totally geared up for camping, the only thing left to sort out is how my fish are going to get their food. what is available in the way of automatic fish feeders? Anyone had much experience with these?
  3. i left them for three days & it didnt get better. i then got white spot meds, dosed each day & did a water change each day. after 10 days they are ok

    Cichlid Newbie

africans are beginning to be extremly popular. Hi & welcome. I guess its alot cheaper to have africans than marines for almost as good colour.
  8. duno if they are around but damn, that is so much like a fryeri or ahli http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/s ... hp?id=1008
  9. i had a shark internal & found it to be quite good. when i loaded that tank up with africans i used a cf1000. it was silent & did an amazing job. i like the cf1000 as it is very well priced, has been extremely reliable & has great filtration.
  10. awesome thanks. how often should i feed? twice a day?
  11. nope, in the smaller tank they would leave the food & eat it later or have some & the rest after. in the bigger tank they are constantly demanding it by being really active at the top which they did not use to do & in a week i have not seen any food hit the bottom.

    Convict Latin?

i have been offered a 10cm female that needs a new home, would that be ideal? my africans are all juvies up to 3 inches long.
  13. i have just noticed that only the two clown loaches in my african setup have white spot badly. they have got it today. i was told that all fish have it but it comes out when they are stressed or run down. could this have come out due to adjusting to their new enviroment? wats the best way to get rid of it? one of my giraffes that i got last week had it but it was gone the following day & that was in the smaller tank. curent temp in tank is 27 deg.

  18. Hi all, some of you may know that i just got rid of my community fish so i could put my africans from my 2 footer to the 1000mm tank. since they have gone into the larger tank they have started to eat about four times as much food as before. does anyone think this may have something to do with, more space = more energy = more food?
  19. thanks afrikan, always very knowledable
  20. i see, some on the puffer forum refer to the SAP as a dwarf as well.
  21. the SAP or Brazilian is a dwarf puffer. they only get to around 2-3 inches max if i remember rightly
