good luck with the move, never a fun job but got to be done huh wouldnt worry about taken water for turtles, bacteria apparintly starts dieing off in your filter after an hour or so of turning it off so just try get filter running again asap but not a worry with turtles really theyre hardy, re for the fish tank take some water (depends how bigger tank and whats practical really) as you will have to for fish to travel in anyway but more importantly just try get filter running again asap, can always leave fish in bucket or bags for a few hours until water in tank warms up (depends what fish and how much you value them i geuss) when i moved not so long ago i didnt take any water really, just moved tanks refilled waited an hour or 2 for temps to adjust with bags of fosh floating whilist slowly mixing small amounts of the new water often and then chckd fish in, im good like tht though 8)

pretty sure redwoodaq in trademe had them a while ago, maybe try emailing them if you havent already. or put a rock in the tank hey presto sorted and cost ya next to nothing special trick of the trade that 1

good question, beardies seem to like the highest place in there tank to sit, maybe a hirachy (sp) or dominance thing. not sure re basking spot though does it still come down to bask at all, maybe you could have the basking light on the branch with rock underneathe, hopefully sum1 else is of more help :lol:

thats not very nice is it, may of been a good idea to nicely inform the staff

porridge (oats & hotwater) active yeast on top once porridge has cooled off add worm culture place lid on top (dont seal completely) and your done, should be up the sides of container within day or 2, scrape an fed never had a culture die off yet and i forget about them for weeks on end sometimes :oops: but for prolific supply make new cultures say atleast every couple of weeks, or you can just add abit more yeast to give em a lil boost, hope thts of some help to ya :lol:

just like a fish tank it needs to be cycled and pref with a good canister filter, regular water changes and can scrub glass etc but i wouldnt clean out filter until flow gets restricted or maybe every month or 2 and even then dont clean everything in your filter, always leave some muck (contains good bacteria) and algae should go away! also imo whether you have uv lights(as needed for turtles) or not sunlight may be enough to tip the balance & cause algae and prob not alot of benefit uv wise if sunlights going throug a window/glass so may help to minimalise blah blah blah u may already know that but yea would help to know what lights, filter, size of tank and temps are etc?? :lol:
