HOLY COW! i am about to organise to have hrv fitted to my house, cheers for the heads up as far as the sales staff or management are concerned, good to hear the product is working, but is it as good as they claim? and is it really worth $3200 (or $3280 cos givin there track record it will cost you the $80 in time and effort)? maybe i could organise to have them give me the $80 off my one and you could swap you the $80 for some frags :lol:

ok, i ran a cup of very hot fresh water through the air intake, interesting thing the noise stopped while the skimmer was sucking water as apposed to air, this seems to have helped it skim correctly but the noise is still present. deffenatly related to the air entering the pump, any thorts?

it sounds like a pump noise, and it is not skimming properly anymore, the is no real calcium build up, ill try the hot water trick now and let you guys know.

any ideas why my deltec ts1250 skimmer has become noisey? i noticed it when i got home tonight. i have pulled it to bits tonight to give it a clean out just incase somthing got sucked into where it shouldent, but it was perfect, i had a good look at the needle wheel while i was there and all seems to be as it should. reassembled and tested, skimming ok but still noisey. its never been totally silent but now its making more noise than my overflow. there must be a reason why? :-? i thort of putting a peice of sonthing between the pump and the base of the skimmer to see if that is where the noise is comming from, what would be good for this? i need it to be around 5mm max.

thats the best news ive had all day!!!! :bounce: its amazing how much i have learnt from this site! just look at the start of this thread and you can see how much my tank has improved. learning new things every day is paying off!

yeah i spotted that today, thort i could get my nephew to go around and get some, trouble is he is only 5 :lol:

i recon the enhancements question must mean that my tank has good color? hard to tell when i look at its so much.

camera is a kodak easyshare c330, just a cheepie. i have no idea how to enhance photos, it takes me all my time to resize them and post them here. im currently looking into a new camera so i can get better close ups.

thanks ira, so the one im looking at would be a DSLR. im defenatly not ment to be a photographer!

budget isnt my first priority, like all good things you only get what you pay for. i will have a better look at the slr tomorrow, probably worth the extra cash for the ability to change lens's. is there a differance between DSLR and SLR?

totally agree, i have had 3 bad experances with sony products so i will not give them my money again even if there stuff is better than anyone elses. i like the canon that i saw in harvy norman but it was not slr, it was the top of the line before they go slr. am i better to spend the extra to get the slr? the non slr was $800 ($999 retail) and the slr was $1499. cant remember the model numbers tho.

hi all, just interested in what sort of camera you use and what you think of it. its time for me to buy a decent camera :bounce: , price is not the main issue as i want one that will last and not be out dated too quickly. i mainly want one to take photos of marine tanks and normal camera stuff (ie nice cars/girls/cool stuff), but i want one with a good macro function so i can get good clear close ups of corals and fish etc. so do you have a camera you are happy with? what make and model? where did you get it from? camera speicalist or genral store like harvey norman? cheers guys!

i might have one, what do they look like? i have two spare things that im not sure what they do. :oops: i have just turned the reactor off as the ph in the tank has dropped to 8 so i must be doing sonething wrong.

its running!!!! yay!!!! :bounce: how much co2 should be going in? how do i measure this? i have the tunze reg, what should i set the gauge to? drip rate at the moment is 1.5 per second.
