Yeah tank build threads are good as. I'm gunna do one for my upgrade (I dont have a sump at the mo') so getting a new sump and larger display got stand built and sump in place so far. Plan to do it all over x mas break.

If a mate asks for help I help him, and when 80% of my coral/frags came from him its the least I can do. The affected coral of mine came from james about 3 months ago and I'm trying to help him diagnose the prob. I got the frags before he fluidized the carbon and this might help him narrow down on what the real cause was...

Went for a dive the other day at Great Barrier Island and at 15 to 20 ft found a fluro pink and white nudibranch. The water temp was 16.4 deg. Do you reckon its possible to acclamatise them up to 25 deg ? It was going hard on green algae and was a stunna. No coral out there to eat so could be reef safe??? Mate reckons they are found locally too

How high up the cone do you have the water level? I never had any over flow problems and only emptied the cup once a week. Lower the water level in the cone and let it settle in, any waste should stay on the surface of the skimmer foam and may take some time to reach the collection cup. Are you useing any additives that could cause the skimmer to go nuts? If your not happy I'll gladly buy it back at the same price coz it was doin a mint job on my rock cureing tank Keep in mind its a 30 buck skimmer not a 900 odd buck skimmer

Did they mention the problem with farm run offs/ fert. leaching that contributes to reef depleation ?. That has to be a bigger problem than the hobby trade in the long run.

But its always nice to test and know you dont have any ammonia or nitrites Still test mine once a month

Another thing I'd like to know is the dimensions of peoples overflow box. I'm halfway through upgrading and the last thing I need is the new display tank but would like to know the dimensions of others overflows first. Planning to go durso in a 150 x 150 overflow on a 4x2x2.

Chim I can test your parameters for you while your in oz, txt them to you ect. Frags I got off you are sweet and got good colour & growth. I reckon you need small WC's more often, say 10% weekly.... just a guess :-?

It is a strange one that you cant get it working. PM me your address again and I'm going on a road trip I dont sell things that dont work and its a good excuse to visit my mate up Kennedy Bay. BUT try raiseing the collection cup right up the main chamber and be patient, have a bucket to top up the tank level if need be and just stick it out. I did clean it out, so it will overflow alot. I got the petshop guy around when I brought it coz I had the same problem.... it just takes time. If it doesnt work I'll come down............make sure you have some VB in the fridge

The black seal is at the top of that tube and the tube should sit dead center in the main chamber. There is a X mount in the base of the main chamber to make sure the middle tube is in its correct place. It may have moved around in the post. Have a good play around with it coz that might be where the prob is. If only I could find a big enough box to send it down ready to go :oops:
