  1. First of all welcome to the forums. I have a HOB jebo 180 skimmer on my 60 L nano tank. If you have 25 cm to work with on a pane, you will EASILY fit a jebo 180 in there. Im not sure if it would be suitable for your tank or not, as i myself am still only a newbie. HTH
  2. One thing with the full syphon, surely you would keep having to slowly adjust as the pump ages, surely a pump cant run an exactg amount of water non-stop for its whole life-time, its going to slowly reduce flow over time....
  3. Thats all true, BUT, the heater isnt running all the time, probably only 6 hours a day sort of thing so you can minus a bit afterwards if you dont need it to be PERFECT....
  4. Post diagrams of any others there are then peeps!!!!
  5. yea, there are very few in the country, but i know that errol has some so hopefully he will sell me some babys
  6. I find Jebos good at keeping water temps right and not fluctuating too much but they break VERY easily from a tap on the glass... I have 3 jebo heaters here that dont work as they have accidently been hit on the glass or rocks etc. I agree with sharn, aqua one is a very reliable brand, and arent too expensive. I have a 300W stainless steel Aqua one heater and i love it to bits, mainly because they keep the temp even, and the external controler make it so easy to use/adjust
  7. This tank is going to be awesome (well i think it is) Keep the pics coming qll throughout the setup bro, you can sell me mushroom and zoa frags in the future Rogan
  8. Same here IOU..I have wanted some GENUINE Altums for ages. but these will do too  If anybody knows where i can get GENUINE altums, i will be very keen..... WEll done Afrikan
  9. Just saw these whilst browsing another forum and thought they would be good to put on here so people who are starting etc. can have a simple diagram of three ways if doing it.... original thread here Rogan
  10. yea its probably easiest to pull it out and deal with it, i dont have any corals/fish in the tank so it wont be too hard.... So you reckon i cut if off, rinse it with cold water, then spraylemon juice on the area?? Thanks for that sharkey.........
  11.   Aiptasia!!!! There are two(that i can see) in the tank (on the rock i bought live from the lfs) What is the best way to get rid of them, i want to inject something into them with a syringe and needle.... Vinegar?? boiling water??
  12. If you ever do breed them, PLEASE get a hold of me. i am VERY keen for some. thanks
  13. ohk sweet The airline was just for taking the water out that was getting in there when it was settling in bro, i know that i have to take it right out to clean the skimmate out.....
  14. airline coming out of the top of the cup is just what i was draining it with, it is just sitting there... Does having the lid on make it skim better??? Wasp its a jebo 180 HOB skimmer i think....
  15. Ohk, Finally, some pics, they are very bad, with brown algae all over the front glass in couldnt be bothered scraping off cos i want to go too bed but i promised pics on monday and it is now wednesday so i thought i better post some... This one is with the flash and makes it look realy yellow and disgusting  This one is a better shot that shows the rock work on the left hand side better This is a sideways shot of the skimmer that i couldnt be bothered turning around.... This is a shot from the left end showing the back of the rock and my 1200lph powerhead and the black pipe coming off it, going straight up then to the front, then bending back round and blowing at the rock And this last one shows the whole setup with lights, HOB filter, HOB skimmer and rock etc. the flash makes the water look yellow, but it is actualy very clear (carbon ) It looks hideous ATM cos of all the brown hairy algae all over the rocks and the brown slimy algae all over the glass, might try get some better pics, when i can be bothered and i arent so tired.....
  16. If you do take LR out, i will be keen to buy some cool pieces for my tank to help it establish

  18. dry the acro out, paint it a colourful colour, then sell it on trademe for a rediculous (sp?) amount of money.... someone will buy it.... and the money from it can go toward your new 10x4x3 foot tank.. /me walks away dreaming about a 10x4x3 foot tank.... AHHHHhhhhhhh...  sorry to hear about your coral(s)/tank chimera....
  19. Microbubbles have settled down already!! Brown Diatoms and a little bit of hair algae have hit so its coming along well  Havent got any test kits except for nitrites yet because i bought a co2 regulator for my planted tank instead 8) I will buy a master test kit on thursday (payday) and hopefully it will be cycled in a few more weeks then i can add some snails...
