When I went to buy a macro my plan was to get the 50mm but they had none in stock so I bit the bullet and got the 100mm. I don't regret spending the extra but I'm sure the 50mm would have done me fine. However, I do like it that I can be further from the subject with the 100mm. -

I was working at the time and we lost power which isn't good when you have two furnaces full of molten steel, so there's likely to be some damage. Sorted that as best I could and raced home to check the tanks. I've been lucky again, just some minor spillage. Now it's back to work to see what's cooked and what isn't.

They should survive without being fanned but they may get eaten without Dads protection. You could scoop them up and put them in a net breeder or a fry trap or even an ice-cream container floating in your tank. If you go with an ice-cream container you'll need to do small water changes to keep things fresh.

That's a little sad to have to let your fish go to a new home but it sounds as if you've made the right decision. The fishes welfare comes first eh? But at least you'll now have the fun of deciding what to put in your newly empty tank :bounce:
