  1. Apart from all the other "common" foods, we feed our fish dead fish  Now this might seem a little strange but we feed our fish raw cutoffs from freshwater fish like trout or perch. When we successfully attend to our other hobby that involves fishes (...) we freeze little bits of trout when it's still fresh. Not all fishes eat this but the ones that do go nuts on it - of the ones we have the ones that like it are Neon Tetras, Danios, Agassizi, Convicts, Lumpheads, Guppies, Melanochromis Auratus and Pearl Danios. Just my 2 cents Dan

    Hey Guys!!!

Hey pnfishguy! A warm welcome to the forums from us too Is this going to be your very first tropical tank (ie wam water)? If yes, I'd recommend starting off with Guppies or Platties or a combination of both. They are a great starter fish I would also add a pleco or a bristlenose to keep the glass clean After all these years of fishkeeping we still enjoy them HTH

  12. Hi djay! Yes, Tsarmina and evilknieval69 are spot on. Some loaches are better than others for exterminating snails though - I personally found Yoyo Loaches (aka Pakistani Loaches) to be the most effective snail killers HTH, Dan

  23. We have snails in all our tanks and they don't cause any problems at all. I think they are mainly Ramshorn ones and a few darker ones with a spiral-formed shell. The occasional hole in a plant's leaf is the only downside we've experienced so far. On the plus side: they help cleaning up the bottom of the tank pretty well and help with fighting algae build up on the glass. As Alan said, a great source of help in a bubba tank as well. Just my two cents Dan
  24. Wow! Cool project, Caryl! Thanks for sharing! :bounce: :bounce:
