Congrats on the spawns Are these the reds from Nav? Peacock eggs are hard to tumble from eggs I have had no success with them, I have had limted success with mbuna eggs though. It is all about finding the right amount of air movement past them as some eggs like to be bounced a little harder others not at all.. They are all fairly hardy from 3-4days after hatching though so your wrigglers should be fine in a tumbler.

Congrats man.. They grow up far to fast.. It feels like yesterday my little man was that big(well slightly bigger at birth) And he is now 8 mths old. Cherish every moment. And make sure you look after Mum too. VERY cute:)

Definitely the right thing to use you have a Camallanus worm infection they are the worst type and you should treat all of your tanks that may have came in contact with any of those fish (either through nets or siphon hoses or anything).. It is likely that internal damage maybe done to some of the fish already but with treatment most should survive, don't forget to vacuum the gravel 24 hours after each treatment to get rid of the worms..

If the 1.5m stand is sturdy enough then you could use a piece of 18mm ply the same dimensions as the base of the tank on top of it to extend it, there would only be 25cm sticking out on each end.

Yeah driftwood from the beach is fine (I am unsure on the legalities of it all) if anything I would be happier taking it from the beach than the river, the salt water is likely to have killed any nasty algae or any freshwater bugs that may have soaked into it and could affect your tank.

Sounds like a deformity or old age.. This also seems to be exagerated in guppies with massive tails as they don't seem to be able to carry the tail around, it will be genetic unless it is old age..

Hi and welcome Be warned that angel fish are not really angels.. They get big and nasty and tend to eat alot of the more peaceful fish that you may want to add with them Also if you get a pair then there wont be an awful lot of room in that tank (as they are a very tall tank) and the other fish will get a hard time..

450L would be a good start but you would have to upgrade I would be worried about getting a smaller number and ending up with the wrong ratio if you were getting 4-6. I have seen a few posts where people have had major issues with male fronts killing off all the rest..

I have no idea what strain they are but they match afra that I have seen on the net they breed true and that is what I purchased them as from a reputable source so I am not naming them any further. Yes plenty of people sometimes get a random "blue zebra" that comes out looking like them but they only get 1 in 100 the others are all sorts of other randoms that are throw backs to whatever else was crossed when they were started.. Afra are not allowed but zebra are so it is possible that one day we may see some of those afra come into the country, only time will tell.

All I can say is I wish! I have and breed afra they are awesome fish but they are none of the strains that you have posted Also they get bigger than dems and are typical mbuna so would do better in bigger tanks than dems although you may get away with a colony in a 4fter.

That does suck I have had similar experiences.. I dropped a 2fter the other day and smashed that to pieces I to would have salvaged as much of the old tank as possible, it is possible someone may have wanted it to repair it and use it as a sump or something, or even cut up remaining pieces for spare lids or something glass is always handy

The most common recommendation I have seen for a minimum tank size is 6 x 2 x 2ft but bigger is always better.. Also be aware they munch up other fish like adult yellows and stuff when they get bigger Cool fish but I can guarantee there are many in NZ who now own them and have no idea what they have purchased

I doubt the plants had any bacteria on them I regularly move fish into a fresh tank with just an established filter and have never had problems.. Are the fish gasping at all? Swimming in short erratic movements and fanning the fins alot sounds like something they would do when stressed or scared maybe the change around in tank and water change has unsettled them?

Just black marking, usually caused by poor breeding (this one isn't very bad) but could also be caused by a diet high in spirulina..

I am no good with photoshop either, but would be interesting as you would have to somehow recreate the chair that would have been behind her arm and also the weatherboard in the background and make it all match.. lol no unfortunately not just at the Mt for xmas with family, I really want to catch up with quite a few people up there again though so should get up there again at some stage.. It is a fairly big drive from here though and 2 young kiddies make it slightly bigger We can easily all fly up no worries and have done in the past but then we are stranded up there out west with no car and noone lives out there..

Johannes posted a pic of a GAE hanging out of a giraffes mouth so be wary if you have big haps in the tank.. The faithful bristlenose has never done me wrong they even breed in my African tanks so must be happy

Don't use drontal if you need prazi get droncit instead.. Just buy bird wormer called aviverm it is available offline from hippo.co.nz I think? A google search in NZ usually brings up a few places selling it..

I don't think anyone has called them hybrids I just asked if you knew what they were They do seem to match all the photos of the albino socolofi that I could find on the net too, so that may well be what they are Either way they are still nice fish and would make a wicked contrast to the blues/yellows you have good choice on adding them.
