Yeah I HAD two silver sharks, I love them to bits but they are like tiny dogs - mad as and always rushing around. The discus may not like this.

Doesnt Flourish excel get rid of unwanted algae, I know it works for me?

What are your water conditions, as you say they are with your africans, do you have african type water conditions e.g high ph? I have seen clown loaches like this recently in a LFS I wont mention the name, but they were all skinny and sick looking. Are all the other fish okay?

I have discus with my clown loaches and yoyo's with no problems, I am only feeding them tropical flake food, sinking protein tab's, freeze dried brine shrimp and discus tucker. Dont know if this helps.

The GU10 LED does not radiate any heat, and its not very bright. In my 600 deep tank all it does is create nice dappled rippling light due to the reflection of the current coming from my filter outlet. LOOKS COOL.

WOW THIS LIGHT IS REALLY NICE, ITS NOT VERY BRIGHT AND ALL THE FISH SEEM TO LIKE IT, RECOMENDED TO THOSE ON A BUDGET OR THOSE NOT TECHNICALY MINDED.

My main (twin tube, plant growing) light comes on at 6am and goes off at 9pm, five mins before the lights go off I have just bought a small desk top lamp with a "GU10" LED bulb, i will be using this as my "moonlight" lamp. I'll turn off all lights in the lounge and have this on to watch the fish.

I had one made up 750 long, 400 deep, 600 high, it has top bracing on both side with a lid front and back, this is all 8mm. Nice and strong in case I knock it or drop a rock on it while cleaning the inside. I cant think of anything worse than injury to anybody or the thought of comming home to dried up fish and a wet floor and the basment below all soggy. For the few xtra bucks go solid.

If it were me I would use fish freindly silicone to hold it all together, drilling holes would be a bit of a major.

Just bought a small 240V desk lamd and a "GU10" LED bulb to go with it for $35.00 all up ! The light / beam on this bulb is not to bright so it should be okay for a night light. Im going to chuck a timer on this and have it turn on 5 minutes before the main lights go out. I should then be able to gawk at my fish with the house and main tank lights out and see what they get up to at night.

Purchased a 6" diameter Y junction in black plastic, its about 12" long. Going to go home tonight and make a plan to change my tank around to be able to put this "Hotel Clownifornia" in. My big loach is gonna love it !

Going to "Humes Pipes" tomorrow to look at 160mm diameter plastic NOVACOIL ribbed piping and a few elbow fittings / joiners, just looked at these on their website and it looks fine. I believe I can make up "Hotel Clownifornia" from this stuff. Ill let you know how I go.

Hey Yeah, didnt think of that stuff, also drain coil may work as I could make U shaped curved sections !

I have seen and would like to make S or Z shaped tunnels with this tubing so I guessed I would need elbows or fittings / connections / joiners of some description. I currently have the largest artificial plastic log for my big clown loach to hide in but this is getting to small, all the others also like to go and sleep with this one too. This tubing would be like "The Clown Hotel" or "Hotel Clownifornia" :lol:

I need proper large diameter downpipe type tubing for my loaches to sleep in.

I have been trying to take some picture of my large loach now a few nights in a row but it wont keep still. I guess its 8" plus now and it has a tall thick body. Its really tame and I can just about hand feed it. When I have a pic I will need to ask somebody if I can email it to them and then post it on this site for me?
