  1. Cool Caryl, I'd love to have one like that and fill it with . . . . . . . . PLECO'S ! !
  2. Is there not some organisation who do health checks on these kinds of stores? I am sure the SPCA would be interested!
  3. AWESOME DUDE ! How many you got there? How big is the largest one?
  4. Anybody know where I can get Black PVC plumbing fittings at around 100 to 150mm diameter as my loaches have outgrown their current hiding places. I would like black as it would not show up in the tank as much as the normal white down pipes etc.
  5. See below, all seems to be well. 3x Large Clown Loaches 1x Syno Cat 2x Neons 5x Yellow Mollies 1x YoYo Loach 2x Discus 2x Red Lyretail swordtails
  6. No not sure what they are eating on the vid. My loaches have discovered that frozen Duscus Tucker is yummy, its like a feeding frenzy !
  7. CHECK THIS OUT ! ! http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k183/ ... CN1258.flv
  8. Yeah I have heard of feeding them garden worms, will my discus like these also?
  9. I may go back to my LFS where I bought this pair and discus options on a mle or two who will breed with my female as I would like more.

  11. www.vaquariumthailand.com/.../swordtails/10.jpg www.sozo.sk/digi/2005/642/praha022.jpg HEY LOOK THIS IS WHAT MY FEMALE LOOKS LIKE ! NICE HUH.
  12. Yes Lyretails have very long "swords" top and bottom of the tail and also a long "sword" trailing from the top of the dorsal fin these "swords" are up to two inches long! Has anybody else seen these / got one as they are really nice? My females body is double, almost three times the size of a molly. I have no way of posting a pic for you guys but if somebody could PM me I can email them a picture to post on this site? So if I can find a standard male sword, red in colour you are saying it may breed with my female lyretail?
  13. HEY - NORTHLAND CHIC, what other fish are in with the Syno?
  14. Can I have some help on the above questions?
  15. Admitting I do not recognise some of the fish you have mentioned (bgk?) so long as the tanks water conditions are okay (cycled, temp, ph) and you add them gradually (not all 20 at once, $$$ ouch ) it guess it would be okay but when the fish start to grow up you may have a problem as your tank would be a little small / overcrouded.
  16. I just fed the fish and he's venturing out some more, yes Im sure he will venture out more and more as he settles in. What do you think about my PH though as I have a REAL community tank ! 3x Large Clown Loaches 1x Syno Cat 2x Neons 5x Yellow Mollies 1x YoYo Loach 2x Discus
  17. I guess as he is in a new environment and yes there are my mad 6" clown loaches swimming about, he could be a little scared. He has many places to hide and he does come out at night for food but only very quickly, I have not seen it swimming about at all yet.
  18. Apart from the natural breeding of my rabit like mollies, if I was to go to my LFS and get a male to breed with this Lyretail, what am I looking for and do I need to encourage them or will it be quite natural? Can sombody also explain in laymans terms what a Red Lyretail Swordtail actually is as I had only seen them once and I purchased this pair? I would like to produce / breed more but as I have mentioned I have lost my male.
  19. Yeah kinda the same, I have only had this fish since Saturday and he's been hiding a fair bit and mainly comes out after lights out, I am unsure of why this is , any ideas? I really want to see him more so I can not only enjoy it but to study its markings and fin configuration and sizes.
  20. OK ! Spoiled for choice here with all of the species, I will wait until I get a good look.
  21. These guys will maybe hide for a few days once you get them home, but once they are comfortable in their new surroundings they do live up to their namesake. Visually check all logs, driftwood, caves etc and you may find their hiding place. My largest loach will remind me its dinner time by swimming from the bottom to the top of the tank and stop and look at me right next to me while Im sitting on the couch.
  22. Yeah I am trying to rectify my PH as it has dropped since I last checked it dispite regular 30% water changes & gravel vac every 3 days, I have added some oyster shell in a media bag to my external filter and it is slowly comming back to its original PH of 7.0. This fish was kept at PH 7.0 at the LFS I bought it from. I have found most fish are kept at a common PH in shops accept for the likes of Discus, Malawis etc and I am sure it is easier for the shops to do so. The fish is happy though. From memory I think they had it labeled as a "Leopard Syno"? I will confirm this and advise. I will carefully check this fish tonite to see which one of the four fish in your link to the Planetcatfish site it is and I will let you know.
