still not sure what else is going in, its pretty empty even with 1 aro, 9 discus, 2 parrot, 2 kissing gourami, 3 BN, 1 silver dollar...i took out the fire eel as it was eating all my BN's eggs the only thing i might want is a giant Gourami or clown knife giant gourami can look abit ugly when they are big and i heard that clown knife and arowana sometimes dont get along also a clown knife is like $180 down here in chch -

i've just bought 2 from the animate buy 1 get one free and i find them very aggressive they bully my discus, kissing Gouramis and even BN, only thing they dont bully is my arowana they tend to chase the fish but since they have a weird mouth they dont do any damage from what i have seen price wise, i've looked around chch and they are about $59.95 for a 8-10cm one

a MH would be nice but have to watch my power bill :-? . I already have a planted 5ft tank so going to keep this tank a different style

here is something i came up with to try and hide my metal stand, you can find the build of my arowana tank here http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/settin ... 16015.html here is what i started with, a metal stand i measured my stand and went down to a hardware shop and got them to cut up some 9mm MDF for me i sanded the board so its smooth and i then painted it with a white undercoat the colour i choose was "mouse ear" by taubmans which i got in satin enamel for hard wearing first coat i painted it with two coats to attach to my metal frame i got some cardboard door catchs i screwed down one part to the metal frame and the other part onto the MDF final product everything went well and i can just pull of the covers and click them back on, so i'm happy with my DIY project

how do you guys feed frozen shrimp? i've been told that you need to de-frost, cut in small bits but once its de-frosted it doenst float anymore. Do you guys hand feed?
