this stuff sounds pretty good but i have a couple of questions $60 buys what size bag? and how much water can it treat? and to regenerate, you need bleach and discus buffer or Sodium Thiosulphate (what is Sodium Thiosulphate?)
  4. i feed my BN pumpkin, its cheaper than Courgette when you are on a tight budget
  5. thanks everyone sure Caryl, no problems
  6. there is no answer for your question, its the same as asking how long is a piece of string its all up to you, and what you think is too big
  7. shouldn't this be in the Aquatic Plants section
  8. i looked at the same thing check out this link http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/brine- ... 16772.html
  9. i'm running a 5kg bottle, 460L tank, about 1 bubble a sec and that bottle last me about 9 months you should be able to get a C02 setup VERY VERY cheap if you have contacts in asian countries
  10. sorry i have no idea, all the plants are bought from LFS in my area
  11. here is a old pic of my tank, i've pulled the plants out and redone it for a different look
  12. it depends on what you want, if you want size then get a plec, they grow huge and at a very fast rate i had 3 plec's before and i always end up selling or giving them away as they grow way to big and uproot plants
  13. woah, your tank, stand and driftwood looks great
  14. thanks Mystic, i cant wait to see your new tanks up and running
  15. yip thats my aro, cant really get a good pic of him, he swims faster than my camera
  16. i asked toby which paired spawn and he showed me, i'm still abit shocked to see such a young and small pair spawn cant wait to see picture of your setup
  17. my new royal plec everyone came to see what is going on...couldnt get a pic of my aro, he swims to fast
  18. had a look at those discus today and gees those are so small to be spawning C02 is added when your light turns on, so when your lights goes off so does the C02, its injected straight into your tank with something like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 767487.htm
  19. i would just get 4 or more discus and a school of tetras, with a planted tank you wont have much room and the more discus you have the happier they will be
  20. ok, might just have to keep with my setup Thanks for the info
  21. hi just wondering if anyone use one of these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 070159.htm i'm sick of hearing bubbling noises and i find it takes forever for the brine shrimp to hatch if not heated just wondering if this kit is anything special or good
  22. lol it is that stuff gives you the strength of ten men or you put it on your hands to dry them so you can get a better grip on the glass
  23. was at Organisms today, they have a nice royal plec, its not a gold line but john told me that the gold line they use to get aint very nice looking so they stopped getting them in i think i might get that royal
  24. oooh the gold line does look good, i havent seen any of those in chch. around what price do they go for?
  25. the BN breed inside a brick which i use to keep the driftwood down, i take out the brick and eggs once they hatch and put them into a small fry tank i'm sorry to hear you lost so many of your great fishes, its so hard to treat such a big fish and having a spare tank that size to put them into i normally keep an eye out on what different fishes comes into chch so it shouldnt be too hard for me to pick something up, or else i can just order something in but its always hard to spend so much on just one fish i know that next on the list is a royal plec just have to save up for one
