i heard the redtail catfish use to be on the import list but for me asian arowana, red and RTG

we just use sugar and yeast add sugar to the same amount as they state in the instructions then fill with warm water till about 3/4 full, Mix well then add 1/4teaspoon yeast, mix again....

i got one for my gf's tank, it works ok but i make my own mix for it its alot easier than making a coke bottle version BUT coke bottle version is alot cheaper but uglier

add another tank :lol:

Hi i've read that if you double dose flourish excel it will kill black beard algae, my question is how often do you need to double dose? daily? weekly?

the other brands i have seen is aqua one and NutraMatic, your LFS should carry them...i think they are around the $40ish mark

i use the ehiem one. it works great but they cost a lot like $160

the parents are about 10-11cm and the baby is about 1-1.5cm

nothing new has happen, the parents havent spawn or maybe i just dont see the egg the baby is still the same, feeding it on BBS

wondering if anyone here has breed balloon kissing gourami or just normal kissing gourami? i had these for about 2years and never thought they would spawn until my partner saw a tiny pink thing swimming around with my arowana. I quickly scooped it out and found that it was a baby balloon kissing gourami. Dont know when or how this happened and did not find any other survivers...thinking either 1- aromwana, 2- one of my 3 eels or 3- filter (which I checked but didnt find any) I have just been researching on breeding them but not much info...just that they lay the eggs near the surface and the eggs float to the top and stick to whatever they touch...and that I should put lettues leaves in for the fry to eat. Will keep an eye out for more breeding by the kissing gouramis and monitor the brave young surviver! PICS Parents

it has happened to me before, the parents give up on the batch they have now and eat them cause the batch was too small only option i can see is to take the babies out and try to feed them yourself OR let the parents eat them

the new setup looks great...a change once awhile is always good

i breed them for awhile and i just put everyone into the same tank, if you have enough they dont fight.....i had over 50+ fighers in my 5ft last time :lol:

the tetras are getting killed off with the heat :lol: aro's are still too small to eat them

no real update, been busy with my 5ft, took out all the plants and planted some in the 6ft...also took out all the discus that was in with the arowana not sure about the clown knifes, i see them once and a while when they come out to eat but most of the time they are hiding in the plants here are some before and after of my 5ft, decided to start again with that tank before after

it has happened to me once, the pleco tried to suck on but the discus went nuts and threw him off...that was a common pleco.....in saying that, i never had another pleco do it i think the chances are very slim

my one eats colourbits, ox heart, blood worms, mussels, prawns, worms never seen it go for the discus but it mostly hiding all the time

the Bichirs is awesome! nearly bought it but had to hold back...get in quick cause i bet it wont be there long

i also say tank size makes a difference on the growth rate

yeah still running the FX5 no real troubles, only thing is that the polishing pads you get for it cogs up the filter and slows the performance within one day. I also run a 403 for the surface skimmer, as for lights its just has a 4ft aqua one twin tube light. its not very bright at all but it ok for now tofu killed craigs old car...
