  1. The Ausies get the native snakes but not the leopard geckos.
  2. The plants will be a selection of what they have available and many will be grown emersed. I have bought many plants from him and never had a problem.
  3. I agree. Another concern I have is the tendency by some reptile breeders to overfeed or feed the wrong food in order to get the reptiles to a "mature" size in order to breed them sooner. This has caused problems in the tortoise, turtle and bearded dragon populations and there is no reason to assume it will not (if it hasn't happened already) be a problem in the leopard gecko population. This ruins the internal organs of the animals and makes them unable to breed properly (if at all) and who knows what sort of a life it gives the creature.
  4. Very large geckos are not likely to be established genetically in the very few generations that we have had them in New Zealand but more than likely caused by too much of the wrong food. Dark yellow to orange hatchlings that revert to normals as adults may not be genetic as well but may be caused by some environmental factor. There are some interesting morphs popping up (such as the whites held by rabbit) and there is the start of other factors such as flashes of orange but these will take many more generations to develop to something permanent. I have the original mack snows that were bred by someone who had bred the very fancy varieties while living overseas and they were confirmed as mack snows by the experts on overseas forums. I have added more since and now have two unrelated breeding colonies. I have made one available for anyone who wants to breed this strain or others related to it and anyone that only wants to bad mouth will be blacklisted like muck05 (whoever he or she may be). Good luck all you serious gecko breeders.
  5. Got to be a little hard to breed with a gonopodium like that. Size does matter.
  6. Promise this is the last post off subject. Incubator sorted: $nz 221.91 off Ebay and free delivery. Courier $nz178.75. Total $nz400.66 and waiting for delivery.
  7. Welcome and enjoy your time here. There are some members with a very great knowledge of guppy genes. I am not one of them.
  8. Don't feel too bad they usually get all suicidal over the summer anyway. They are a worm and not a fly larvae. The culture must be infested if it is producing flies.
  9. Different colours:black, buff and green. Green is sex linked as they are all males.
  10. They popped up from a pair of normals---as they do sometimes. Been around a few years. You want spectaculer---cross one to a koi angel.
  11. Feed them out before they do.
  12. I used to use that fact to seperate them out by size for feeding various sized fish. You just have to be carefull that you don't do yourself out of all the smaller ones to grow on.
  13. I used garlic luncheon sausage--worked for me.
  14. Not sure what they weigh, They aren't very big, would go as hand luggage but probably better to get them to send it. They are on ebay but wont send to NZ
  15. Any chance of getting you to bring back a lucky reptile herp nursery 2 reptile incubator from England. All my rallies over there got sent to Australia.
