  1. There is heaps of tanks for sale in trade me too.
  2. Luke, The earliest is 2 days after eating brineshrimp. As long as they know how to eat the BS you can take them out. Ron
  3. Hey Bud, In future if the spawn is valuable to you, always remove 1 of the parents in order to save them. V in food Ron
  4. Sharn, PM me your address and i'll send you some liquid prazi.
  5. Hey Blue, 5 wks old and the parents spawn again! You got to stop feeding them The Viagra Tab lol. At 5 wks the frys should be quite big and being a big spawn they would have rip the parents apart. What are the frys doing in a planted tank? Ron
  6. Hey Sharn, If 1 fish in the tank have worms, chances are most of them will be infected. I would strongly advice you to treat the whole tank. I hope it's not the discus tank that is affected? Cheers, Ron
  7. Hi Lynne, If the frys are 2 wks old the parents will raise the frys. If the parents are fighting and it look bad, then you have to remove 1 of them so they don't kill each other over the frys. hth. Ron
  8. You can order it from your local pet shop. Not that expensive.
  9. I wouldn't put Angels, Molly, Gourami, Neon and Guppy in with Discus. Rummy, Cardinals, Harlequin are OK. SAE is OK as long as they don't latch on to the discus. This is just my opinion. Ron
  10. Did you refill with warm declorinated water or straight from tap at waterchange? Ron
  11. I NEED MORE ROOM FOR TANKS!!! Don't we all. Nice one Shane! Ron
  12. Totally agree with Sharn. I store more than 1000 ltrs of water overnight with strong airation and still use Prime. Call me mad but I just wouldn't risk it. Most of the discus and breeders are not replaceable. Ron
  13. unless you're getting discus straight from the amazon you don't have to worry about what water is in the river. All the discus you see in nz are domestically bred (apart from the odd few) They are bred and raise in clorine free tap water. Ronnie
  14. Hi Caper, Parasite Guard will be OK to use for fluke and external stuff. Ron
  15. I'm glad all those running around in the morning paid off. :bounce: Ronnie
  16. Hi Lynne, Congrat on the spawn. Yes you can do a small waterchange. Make sure the new water you put in are of the same PH. Start feeding them newly hatch brineshrimp 5 days after free swimming. Frozen brine shrimp are no good to newly hatch fry cos' they're too small to eat them and will pollute the water. Depending on how many fry you got , just start by putting abit in to get them use to it. Best to remove uneaten food after 1 hr or the dead brineshrimp will pollute the water. If you don't keep the water clean the fry will end up getting flukes and die. The parents will not kill the fry by sucking them and spitting them back out. All advice are base on my experience and hope it helps. Ronnie
  17. You'll just have to take heaps and hope that you get a couple of clear shots. Selecting clear shots is like culling baby discus so i'm used to it LOL Ron
  18. I wonder why the guy from Tauranga rang me and say they don't do live fish and suggest I try Post Haste. I'm at a lost. Ron
  19. Well Sharn, sad to tell you that NZ courier just rang me saying that they don't do live fish. Ronnie
  20. It all depends whether you're willing to take the risk. For me saving $50.00 against thousands of dollars is not worth risking Ronnie
  21. I have 54 tanks full of Discus and do daily waterchanges of 50-80% (depending on how fully stock the tank are). I use Prime for water conditioner even though I let my water sit in barrels overnight with heavy airations. 5mls for 200ltrs is value for money. Can't afford to risk stressing the discus resulting in diseases outbreak or worse killing them LOL. Already invested so much $$$$$ in it and a little bit more don't make much different. Better safe than sorry and make sure you don't lose your day job Cheers, Ronnie
  22. take him a few month to count 100,000 daphnia and if he loose count he'll have to start all over again. That is why he's charging so much.LOL Ronnie
  23. Nice fighter Jeol, keep the photo coming. Ronnie
  24. Yes you can. You can rinse them under the tap when you net them. Ron
  25. Discusguru
