Hehe. Yeah, not a cheap hobby, but a worthwhile one Besides, the bigger the tank the more stable it's likely to be for reef right?

I know it'll cost a lot of money. I'm well aware of the cost, it won't be for some time, but have a four foot tank I can do something with now.

If the cowfish can fit in a four foot tank, then I'm debating making my four footer a FOWLR tank and the eight footer a reef tank...I have posted another post about this.

What would you say the minimum size tank for this fish could be? Would he be alright in a four footer?

Hehe. That's a brilliant idea! I might just start out with the FOWLR and do your suggestion in time when I have a bit more money! Then having both I guess, if I change mind one way or other, I can just sell off one half and make it a full tank either way. Still would like pictures of FOWLR tanks!

Haha. Well, I said that to one of my mates. But I'm planning on purchasing an eight footer, I can only fit one in my house I could use my four footer later on but guess just want to focus on one tank for now (well two, cause my two footer cube has my GSPs in at the moment). Later on maybe could run another, but it will be much later, even years.

Cost is not a factor, but I am leaning more towards the FOWLR cause it has more options fish wise (i.e. that cowfish I was eyeing up ) Though I'd love clownfish/anemone. Could an anemone go in a typical FOWLR setup? And please, I'd love to see photos of FOWLR setups!

Hey guys, I'm debating in which direction to go. I love fish, and the variety seems more if you can go the fish only option. In particular I was looking at the cowfish... But then I like the colours, and natural look, of corals. So I'm torn between the two. What are your thoughts of each?

Thank you, my boss gave me his old tank and stand for Xmas many years ago, except the tank cracked a couple months later along the bottom. I only recently got a tank to replace it, from a kind member here, I swapped for a 1metre tank I recieved which I had been told was 1.4metres. And this tank fits the stand PERFECTLY. Was amazing.

Ok guys, I've decided once all my african cichlids are sold off, I'll be turning that tank into a reef tank. It's 120 long x 55 wide x 60 high. Would the light currently on it be ok though? It's a double bulb which you can switch each one on/off seperately. Obviously would need more powerful bulbs for it. Or are Hallides the only option?

I have a two footer cube, I know all about it Someone mentioned a deep sand bed, would take up some of the space, and then the bottom wouldn't need to be siphoned. Could that work?
